Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 trailer kind of controversy baiting? (And by extension the game.)

So, I was youtubing away and I got an ad before the video I wanted to watch. I was all ready to skip at 5 seconds in, as you do, and then I noticed the title of the ad was "Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 Sarajevo Urban Combat." This piqued my interest, so I kept watching, and it came up with the usual time, date and location most modern shooters do in the corner. The issue is, it said, "Sarajevo, 1993." For those not aware, this means it is set during the Siege of Sarajevo, which is considered one of the worst parts of the Bosnian Genocide.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, if the game takes a Spec Ops The Line approach of depicting the horrors of war and just generally being thoughtful about the subject matter. However, the trailer seems to take a, "Yay, war!" approach, as evidenced by the line, "Sometimes I just like to blow shit up." This isn't something that happened ages ago, this happened less than two decades ago, and it just seems tasteless to depict it like this.

Now, it could be that the game does depict events tastefully and just has a shitty marketing team, and the game should by no means be judged based only on this trailer, but the trailer hardly bodes well for the quality of the game.

So guys, what do you think about this? Is it OK to have the Bosnian War as the setting for a game? Does it depend on how it is depicted?
