Ummmm what? Enemy Front was mediocre at best. It's not even Rising Storm good.
What was wrong with it? It mimicked the Crysis 2-style level design in a WWII setting with some decent writing, workable stealth, and a good mix of main and side objectives. Graphics were quite good, and the mix of environments was really good. My only real complaint would be that the game had some bugs, but no CryEngine level editor files were included, preventing fixes.

edit:
And how is Enemy Front even vaguely like Rising Storm? Rising Storm is a WWII multiplayer FPS with a realism bent. Enemy Front is a "cinematic" WWII FPS which borrows liberally from Crytek's school of game design because it's a CryEngine game.

Lol, no. The last games were so shit, and I don't know why you would want to limit a game into one of the most boring aspects of one the most boring themes in games (in other words, sniping in modern warfare games).

Because some people like sniping oriented gameplay, and they also like modern warfare. Being sniped, sniper other people. There's a romanticism to it that never died, and it just so happens that modern warfare is a better setting for sniping due to advances in technology and more "dramatic" wars. WWII was a really, really, really boring war. Hence why the Sniper Elite games have a mild to severe affliction of boring. And why WWII FPS games unfortunately tend to be boring.

Also, a linear, scripted sniping game can offer an experience that open world stuff like Ubisoft's Far Cry games and Metal Gear Solid V and stuff like that can't.

I feel like I remember people having these kinds of high hopes for 2 when screen-shots and such started coming out, and it didn't pan out well.

As nice as it would be to have a legitimately great sniper game, I'd be cautiously optimistic at best. Hope to be surprised.
