Someone please nail Shyamalan to a tree or something so that he doesn't ruin this for me, too.

Haha that's awesome! I haven't seen the movie and even though it's supposed to be crap I kind of want to see it. One of the few good things I've heard about it is that it's got really good special effects, which I would like to see.
Nooooooo! dont do it! It'll ruin so much! Seriously. That movie was TERRIBLE. Sokka? He's super serious. comic relief? gone. and he was one of the best parts of the entire show.

Heh I'll never forget....

"I'm just a guy, with a boomerang. I didnt ask for all this flying... and magic..."

"Its.... a giant mushroom! MAYBE ITS FRIENDLY!"

"I'm just sayin, weird stuff happens to us."

I bloody well loved this cartoon.

"FOOD EATS PEOPLE!!!!"

Okay then, I'll give the movie a miss. From what I've seen of it they've totally ruined Zuko too. He looks like a total dick in the trailers.

existence of this proves that there is good in the world

Taking place 70 years after the events of "Avatar: The Last Airbender," this story follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang - a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenage girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra. With three of the four elements under her belt (Earth, Water, and Fire), Korra seeks to master the final element, Air. Her quest leads her to the epicenter of the modern "Avatar" world, Republic City - a metropolis that is fueled by steampunk technology. It is a virtual melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. However, Korra discovers that Republic City is plagued by crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to rip it apart. Under the tutelage of Aang's son, Tenzin, Korra begins her airbending training while dealing with the dangers at large. <-----copy pasted

I think after that travesty that M. night Shyalaman forced upon the world, i think the fans more or less deserve this. So hey, not a fan but i still have respect for this series and the effect it's had on so many people.

So rejoice fans of Avatar, you have definitely earned it.

This is fairly old news. I'm still pumped for it even though it doesn't come out till next year.
. . . Please tell me your avatar didn't just spoil the latest Doctor Who finale for me.

OT: Can't wait for this, I doubt Korra will be quite as engaging as Aang though, but regardless I'd like to see an Avatar in a modern setting.

Who the hell is Korra? And why does it look like she is some sort of crime fighting avatar?

For a moment I thought you were about to say there was another movie coming out.

Watched it the first time and I thought it was almost decent. Watched it a second time stoned and I could not get passed how completely terrible the acting was. Good God that movie was terrible.

OT: Yeah, it was announced last year I think.

It looks good. I'm thinking that with the source material they have this time, it could even be a better show that the first one. I liked everything about it, but Aang was kind of an annoying character. He couldn't really pull off the serious phase of himself when the show got a little darker towards the end.

I'm hopeful to say the least. There's not much they can do to screw this up.

I sure hope that the Airbenders are gaining a little more of a following back. Maybe they won't be monks this time.

It's gonna be an entire separate show made from the same guys who did the last one. Not a movie.

Plus it's a steampunk future and will explore all the newly evolved cities. There's not much they can really screw up here.

I am really looking forward to watching that new show. I hope there is a Sokka kinda guy though. Because the story was great, in Aang's story. But I stuck around for their wacky antics.

Huh.

This looks like something I might want to look into.

Thus far, I always dismissed Avatar as kiddie stuff.

I never got a chance to watch the teaser and this looks really good. The animation is great and it looks like the choreography for the fights looks even better than it did in the first series. Though in only 70 years, things have come a long long way.
