Somewhat old news, was announced awhile back. But I am really looking forward to it though. Should be interesting to see how everything plays out. Also the description answers where she will learn airbending from, was wondering how that would work considering Aang is dead and all and was the last.
Aang dies? Well fuck that, not watchin them now. Thanks.

Old news I'm afraid but I'm still so fucking excited

But no Toph makes me sad
Well atleast as a compensation Tophs daughter will be in the show. We can only pray that she inherited all the badassery of her mother, heh.

And also, old news is old, but I'm waiting for this with great interest. Why did they have to move the release again, damn it.

I know but it just seems a bit rebooty because the other one ended and there has been some time elapse between this and original series and you know they are going to somehow bring in all the descendants of the older characters or the actual characters one way or another.
Hell, you should see the shipping wars throughout Deviantart, multiple avatar forums, and the conventions where they preview this. People have already wrote entire storylines based around the decendents of characters from the show over the past four years.

The original was a wonderfully succesful show and left with juuuuuuust enough plot holes for people to take a hold of and demand a new series. When it didnt come out right away what did all the fanboys/girls do? They wrote theyre own. Some of the stuff I've read is actually really good. Others..... Not so much.
Well that comes with fan fic though you have to take the good and the bad but they do need to try draw these sort of comparisons and throw backs to the old series to help keep in the old fans while bringing in the new ones. This is my only fear for this show it might change too much if you know what I mean.

To be fair, it's not a reboot, it's really a sequel set 70 years after the first show. ;)

On Topic: It's not exactly news, but yeah, I'm excited as hell. Brike have yet to disappoint, and this series is looking to be just as good as the previous one, possibly even better. The animation is eye-candy, that's for sure.

Isn't that what you'd call a sequel, or a spritual successor?

It would be more of a reboot if they had ignored the previous show and shanged the tone dramaticly in order to appeal to a larger audience. But this one seems very much in the same vein as the old series.

[sub](Also, TV Tropes calls it a sequel, and their word is law)[/sub]
Well personally I couldn't give two shits about TVtropes and personally I would consider a spiritual successor(eg Bioshock) as a type of reboot but not a full one(eg Batman Begins). A sequel in my mind is supposed to have the same characters and continue the story that was there before(eg Cell Saga to Buu Saga in Dragon Ball Z or even Dragonball to Dragonball Z). So if you want to consider it a sequel that is fine and I'll accept that but personally I see this as a sort of reboot.

I knowwwwwwww. Toph was badass. Also hilarious. Heh.

Toph: We can take 'em, three on three.

Sokka: Actually Toph, there's four of us.

Toph: Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't count you. You know, no bending at all.

Sokka: I CAN STILL FIGHT!!!

Toph: Okay, three on three plus Sokka.

Sokka: GRRR!!!

nope, by "basketball" I mean me wearing a jersy way too big for me and running up and down a court hoping to god no one throws me the ball..and occasionaly getting knocked over by thr other kids, just noticed the spelling

anyway in regards to avatar I would argue (from what Ive seen) it has everything a good anime has..just not the "being japanese" part

plus if I wanted a "basketball" night I could have done that anytime ..not that I would

Okay so she is a crime fighting Avatar... And she is assisted by Aang's son... Who is probably a bit old considering that this is 70 years later.

I wonder if we will get to see any of the old cast...

Probably Sokka will show up as some sort of demented old man who is silly, but also wise....

Like that old earth bender who ruled that city that one time
I read that it's not Aang's son, but his grandson who assists her, so he is a bit closer to her age.

And yeah since Bumi lived for 100+ years, there is no reason some of the kids won't still be around.

Nah, he dies from old age. Long after the show is over. Heck, dont take the internets word for it, go watch the show and be amazed yourself. =P

Actually it is official that it's Aang's and Katara's son, Tenzin, who teaches Korra airbending. So no chance for fanshipping there (though I'm sure some will try -_-) as Tenzin is atleast 50 years old or something and has a family of his own.

1. Old news (as many have said)

2. Who cares? More ppl should know about this, it's looks awesome!

3. Some ppl seem to be wondering/suggesting that the old cast might appear. Sorry but no, it's official, all members of the old "team" are dead.

4. The Avatar Wiki is very useful, all information that is known is there. The article about the new show: http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/The_Last_Airbender:_Legend_of_Korra

5. Along with the awesome trailer, the creators held a panel at the last Comic-con. The panel is covered in five parts on youtube.

Just lol'd at the video comments on the trailer.

"Water, Earth, Fire, Air.

Long ago, the three books lived in harmony,

Then everything changed when M. Night Shyalaman attacked.

Only Michael Dante Dimartino, Master of all 3 books could stop him.

But when the world needed him most, he vanished.

Four Years have passed, and the Internet has revealed the new Avatar, a Waterbender named Korra.

Although her bending skills are great, she has a lot to learn before she's able to save anyone. But I believe Korra can save this show." -Jacob Lilly (yaccobb)
This brought a tear to my eye! lol. I dont know if its of sadness or happiness for its a sad tale but with hope at the end,

Huh.

This looks like something I might want to look into.

Thus far, I always dismissed Avatar as kiddie stuff.
That is a terrible mistake, my friend. I work with a 60 year old man who I've talked to about it in detail. It's a great show that everyone can enjoy.

This scene was sped up a few times to avoid being removed from Youtube.
Here's a collection of funny clips from one episode.
This is a small clip from an episode of shorts. This is the ending to my favorite short from that episode.
Yeah, I spent a while just to find clips that were decent and not part of AMVs (way
harder than that sounds), so I think I'll stop here. I recommend you give the show a try.
