So, a new Eeveeolution just appeared, what type do YOU think its type will be?

Going by the current types... I honestly have no idea.

But I've held that a Light type needed to happen for a while (I mean, there's Dark-type, so why not?). So, I'm gonna guess it's Light. It doesn't look like anything else.

They revealed its english name to be Sylveon. Sylv sounds almost identical to Sylph, which are mythical beings of air. This thing has to be flying type based off the naming conventions of all the past eevees.

That was my thinking straight away.

I immediately thought of Sylph, the summon spirit of wind, from tales of symphonia.

Ofcourse there is also the word "Sylvan" which means 'of the wood' or spirit of the woods but there is no way that thing could be a grass type

Based on what it looks like I'd go with Flying or Normal. Unless it's a new type like Light or something?

I don't understand, are the bows on it's head and neck supposed to be a part of it's body? Or does this pokemon just like to dress up?

I'm still holding out hope for a Light type.
Probably not though so my second and third guesses go to Poison or Normal.

I also found this awhile before X/Y was even announced.

What immediately jumped out to me, was maybe they have espeon in the wrong place in your image there.

Purple is the last letter's color, same colour/shade as espeon is,
and the pink is a butterfly shape, which this new eeveelution also has on it's neck and ear.

It may be placed in the middle too because they're subtly making it the... *puts on sunglasses* centre of attention?

I've played every generation of Pokemon at least once and have never once had an Eevee in my team 0.0 I think I've missed the point of Pokemon until now. Right - when I get Pokemon X, I am DEFINITELY having an Eeveelution... probably not this new one though. My guess is that its an evolved Normal type or a Flying type. It doesn't really look like it could be anything else.

I'll probably get a Glaceon or an Espeon X)

I disagree *incoming nerdiness*. Normal types are likely to have a very wide movepool, and with that, unparalleled flexibility. In the first generation, Normal was one of the best offensive types in the game due to having only one weakness and an unpredictable offense. Nowadays, that niche is filled out with Dragon types, but if Ninfia is a sign that Gamefreak is attempting to make normal types aside Blissey competitive, I'm very excited.

OR, in my case, Sylphs are from Final Fantasy 4 and not only fly but steal health and such. (Go Rydia! =P)

Still, if it turns out to be a Flying type Eevee I fully expect it to be a Special Attacker. Probably with some evasion and speed boosting moves added on. Perhaps even some Psychic moves or Bug moves. Even better if it was a pure Flying type, as there are no non-Legendary Pokemon that are pure Flying types; every Pokemon to have a Flying type does so as its secondary type. The only Pokemon to have the distinction of pure Flying type is Tornadus from the previous generation.

From what I gathered on other posts, it's a, "heart," or "pink fun," evolution.

Also, apologies if someone already explained this, I only did a quick find to see if someone mentioned the word heart.


ANYWAY, I don't know how I feel about it. Unless if there are other heart types or there is an actual reason for doing this, this seems kind of dumb.
