It's always about, would you kill a family member or a hundred strangers, etc, right?
I was watching a horror movie, and the question came to my mind.
Given the choice, would you shoot down a small plane with a guided rocket, that would crash out of sight, carrying 8 to 12 people, or would you walk up to one bound man, and look him in the eyes as you slice his torso completely open, spilling his innards across the floor in front of you?
I'm sad to say I'm such a coward I'd take out the plane.
This is obviously adhering to all the usual rules, you won't get caught, there's a way you're being forced to choose, there'll be no-one you know involved, etc, all that stuff.
I don't think the guilt of ending a dozen random lives would haunt me as much as seeing a man's pain close up and watching the life fade from his eyes in front of me.
