My favourite alcoholic drink is rum & coke. I don't really care that most people make it like 1 part rum, 4 parts coke: i make mine somewhere between a third and half part rum, rest coke.

The sad thing is though, that im on a budget and can't buy rum all the time, so i'm stuck with my 2nd favourite: light beer.

I'm a fan of strong cider.

Mainly Jack Ratt or Henry Weston. Although I have been wanting to try Applejack

I was just looking at the drunken moogle (a site with recipes for video game based drinks), and I just got curious as to what types of drinks Escapist members prefer. Frankly, I'm a fan of vodka, rum (especially with coke), gin (especially with juice), margaritas, and red wine. I really can't stand beer, though.

So, Escapist, how do you take your alcohol, if at all?

Also, I'm preparing for a cast party, so if anyone has ideas, I'm all ears.
If the drunken moogle is the one I think it is, I'm itching to try those pokemon starter evolution cocktails.

OT: Any beer, any whisky, any vodka. Anything. I'm really not that cultured when it comes to drinking. The one thing that came close to being unbearable was when I tried rum neat. It was probably some cheap car fuel shit though. Then again, any expensive drink I've tried gets the same reaction that 75 year old whisky got in How I Met Your Mother. Something along the lines of:

"Hmm... subtle. Overtones of oak... this tastes just the same as that cheap ten dollar whisky we normally get, doesn't it?" (unanimous) "yep".

I'd like to try good rum though.

I'm making a batch of cider, and once I get into the habit of it, I may get some plastic tubs and make some applejack.

I must say, in response to the 'what alcohol do you drink?' question, I'm loving the number of 'I don't drink, look at my moral superiority' answers. Seriously guys and gals, why post in an alcohol themed thread if you don't imbibe?

OT: Real ales and whiskey is where it's at, although I'm attempting to cultivate a taste in wine. I can happily drink the stuff, but to me a glass of plonk is just a glass of plonk, which in wine circles makes me the spawn of Satan.

Beer, beer and more beer. And cider too I guess, but mostly beer. It's like the only drink other than tea I'd ever get a craving for.
This, but add in the occasional drop of whiskey.
This, but replace drop with bottle. I'd like to specify lager though, Bitter is something I only fancy every once in a blue moon.

For a slow night you can't beat a nice belgian beer!
Other than that vodka and coke, but I tend to go for happy smiley cigarettes before a night out. I know I'll be smiling and enjoying myself all night long :D

Cider mostly, I like both Pear and Apple cider from Bulmers, Gaymers, Magners and Stella artois Cidre (My personal favourite).

Other than that its just soft drinks for me tbh.

I love my booze, there's very little I dont drink- vodka and pisswater beers are pretty the only things I wont touch.
But most of all I love my ales, ciders and whiskys.

EDIT= Wow so few peopel drink proper booze? Where are my real ale fans at? Oh and cider guys- bulmers and gaymers are quite possibly some of the worst ciders around- try something that isnt so fucked with, you wont dissappointed.

"Ugh. No alcohol for me, thanks. Don't even know why I'm in here, my friends just dragged me somewhere. I'll take a coke, I guess. NO ICE."

That's my drink.

Beer, dark and hoppy by turns... or both. And yes, those would be proper ales. Lager I enjoy is rare. Pilsner nonexistent (and yes, I've tried many, many varieties of proper German Pils. In Germany. Lived there for years. hated 'em all).
Wine, of a medium-dry red variety, Italian over French any day of the week.
Malt whiskey, I'm actually fond of some lesser name-brand sipping varieties such as Ezra Brooks.
Rum, but generally only for mixing or showing off with fire (151).
Many other liquors, but only for mixing or when I don't care where my alcohol is coming from (generally directly after spending time politely in the company of people I loathe).
...also mead, when I can get it. Love the stuff, it's in my blood.

Never milk, though. Coconuts and almonds don't have mammaries, so what I drink is juice.
Also, water. Lots of it.

Tuborg Guldøl - Danish beer.. It's just awesome.

And whiskey. Plain. No ice. Don't spoil good whiskey with ice :/

I drink Bourbon mainly, my tastebuds have been shot to hell from...something (I don't smoke nor do I live with smokers) so I either have it straight or 3 parts bourbon to one part coke. I also like Captain Morgan and some vodka. Can't stand scotch and I seem to have lost taste for beer, also not a fan of wine.
