Makes me a sad panda when I make a new topic and see that it has 50+ views and yet only four replies. Come on, more than four of those users must have had something worthwhile to say. I believe in you guys. Don't be shy.

Unfortunately that happens on most if not all forums. Half the members are lurkers and almost never post.

Eh, I lurk unless I find something that I feel like I can make an interesting/contributing comment on. I suppose, in some sense, I lurk: because I'll visit quite a few topics, read them briefly through, and then go, "Eh, nothing I can contribute here," and move on without responding. I'm sure there are probably a few other people like me, too.

I guess I like to read some people's responses to questions, some people might think that it is a bad thing but I think its fine, nothing bad comes from it and if the question was private I don't think they'd ask it on a forum.

Possibly but I'm not most Escapist users.

I only lurk when I'm either busy, have nothing good to say, or the thread has many pages. Then there are also threads which I avoid. (spoilers, hate, or based off stuff I'm not interested in)

Besides that I post as much as I can.

*points at post count* I almost always post in a thread. As long as it's sane. Like this one. :3

I wouldn't call it lurking, it's just that some of us prefer reading to writing I suppose.

I usually try and contribute to a forum topic but 8 times out of 10 i can't think of anything witty or someone else has stolen an idea of mine.

Most people who write on the forums post really long and well thought out comments. It makes me nervous about whether my short, stupid comments are looked down upon.

Also there is a language barrier, it is much harder to post long and insightful comments in a foreign language.

Speaking of lurkers, you have been on The Escapist for 8 months and only 53 comments?

Huh.

Anyways, I feel this way very much right now. My Daggerfall LP almost stopped on the first post because NO ONE WAS SAYING ANYTHING.

I now know how LP's are done around here and am less depressed when no one says anything for six hours, but still. Make my day, people!

Please get over yourselves.

Don't be confrontational, please. We have no point of reference, so we use our own.

I'm usually a lurker but do post when I feel I have some valid input on the subject, such as this topic. Also, I'm a quote whore. I like seeing messages in my inbox saying that I was quoted.

I'll only ever post if I have something worthwhile to contribute to a thread that hasn't yet been mentioned.

I'ma carry on lurking now...

Lurk lurk lurk.

Great word that, lurk.

Well I just don't care what people think so why bother them with my opinion i have no desire to explain them my point of view and its unlikely they would change mine. thus i just checking new topic in case I'll stumble a brilliant idea.

Moreover lately the material on the forums are shallow and uninteresting.
which gives me even more of this "who cares" attitude.
