Maybe?

I dont like to think I'm a lurker, but Attention grabbing titles draw me in, then I read the post and find I either:
a) Have no real interest in the topic
b) Cant post without getting inflamatory
c) Cant think of anything to say.

perhaps your posters already see their opinions expressed, and dont want to post it again, or just dont feel like by that "Ah, I got totally Ninja'd!" person (something I've never quote understood). Then again, some may be like me and have one of the three above reasons, if not another unlisted.

.... ANd of course some just might be lurkers.

There's a pretty broad spectrum of people on the escapist. Odds are, by the time I've gotten to a thread, someone has already said what I was planning to say, usually far more eloquently than I could. I'll post if I feel there is something I can contribute, but not just for the sake of boosting my post count.

I lurk all the time, however I have been trying to post more often. I just never have anything interesting to contribute.

It only recently occurred to me that on these forums people tend to just have intelligent, funny, nonsensical,.. anyway reactions instead of the flame wars and borderline 1337 conversations on most (game) sites, so I decided to cut in. I was actually just only following threads for my private research on humans.
Got a few posts now but I have been sick for 4 days now and damn bored.

I actually try to come up with some kind of response to anything I find interesting enough to read, but 2/3 of the time it ends up an unrelated rant or comment that doesn't add much to the topic... So it gets deleted.

A lot of the time I can't decipher what point I was trying to get across so I don't bother to post it.

I recall reading somewhere, the idea was stated that upwards to 70% of forum viewers never to rarely post.

Sometimes people just don't have anything to say.

I don't know if this applies to anyone else but I rarely post because I read through my reply before submitting it and almost always think "Who would actually care? It's most likely going to be skimmed over, or by some small chance start an argument. I'll not bother"

Plus most of the time any points I would have made in a thread have almost always been said and I don't think there'd be any use in repeating them.

Like was just saying on the third made like two days ago, I don't see why not posting is such a bad thing, should I really have to put in some useless or repetitious post just so you can have a higher response count? Maybe I decided I'm not interested in the topic after reading a few comments, maybe I feel like I could only respond to a thread in anger that will go nowhere, maybe 95% of people already have the same opinion that I do. Just imagine the real world where you have to make a verbal response to every little thing you overhear, it would be pretty ridiculous.

I lurk when what I want to say has been said. No reason to type simply to hear my fingers tittertatter.

Irony if this has already been said by someone else.

I wouldn't call it lurking, it's just that some of us prefer reading to writing I suppose.
but in terms of forums, that's pretty much the definition of lurking.

i'm not a lurker. I don't play zerg. I'm a dark templar so you don't see me coming.

ot: I don't really lurk. If I find an interesting topic, I usually post.

Post because you have something to say, not because you have to say something.
That's my creed.

I have something to say in this case.
