And the expression "water is wet" comes to mine. No matter how much you iron out the wrinkles of a refund system, some people will always find the loopholes left and take advantage of them. It has happened for decades and, compared to those old refund policies, Steam is pretty strict already. No surprises there, it still does more good than harm though.wulf3n said:So it seems the steam review/refund system has a few wrinkles to iron out as demonstrated by one "review"
I bought it just so I can leave this review and then instantly refund it. [http://steamcommunity.com/id/lagamuffin/recommended/350200/]
The old expression "this is why we can't have nice things" comes to mind.
You know this is actually probably the right answer. Her game probably got news and good scores because well she was getting harassed by a large group of people(Let's not try to spin this guys she was). This meant well with all the buzz around her, that it would be easy to generate traffic as people for and against her would click on said reviews/blogs and then rant about it in the comments, again for and against. No this isn't a claim of some sort of conspiracy, other than the fact of "Let's get clicks". It is possible that some of those reviews actually did like the game, but would they have looked at it if there wasn't a buzz storm around her in the first place? Can't say. Here Comes Tomorrow said:Well the obvious answer is that the game was only worth covering in 2014 when Gamergate was young and the controversy was at it's peak.
No one gives a shit about GG now. Or Wu. Or her terrible game. Even trolls don't care given the tiny amount of reviews compared to to number of people who bought it. You don't generate clickbait with things no one cares about.
PC gamers tend to be richer than mobile gamers so you can milk them for more.DudeistBelieve said:I'm seeing it on IoS for half the amount they're charging on steam. That's pretty ballsy.
Eh... just did so myself.Strazdas said:Oh, right, i had forgotten that was going to come up. So because of this thread i looked at some gameplay on youtube and i wish i hadnt. Its awful. I think the 23% it has on steam right now is totally justified.

I actually DON'T doubt that. The only question is how much of it was her harassing herself with throwaway accounts.MerlinCross said:You know this is actually probably the right answer.
