Artistic wise they just made Disney their *****.
In truth, I think Disney slowly started losing their touch long ago. Ever since they tried going for the 'Real World' type of shows, their ratings aren't as nice as they used to be while MLP: FiM has been rising. So I would assume around say Season 1 of episode 22, the fanbase has overcame the community that's all for Disney.
Of course, Disney's legacy may always be on top since you know... they're extremely well off plus keep making good movies now and again. Sadly, the movies of today were nothing like the original classics hence why they're selling movies that date 20 or more years ago as special editions.
I don't think it's right to call it Disney's legacy like they have no chance of redemption, princess and the frog was really sweet, they are localizing studio Gibli's films rather competently and while the live action stuff is terrible the actual cartoons are still pretty great, if the episodes are slightly hit and miss though.
Good point there- however, they are losing fans overtime. Almost 'all' their shows on Disney channel is reality shows that are really cheesy if not painful to watch. Maybe only one-two of the live shows are fine but the others.. i've tried watching them. Couldn't because it's just ridiculous and the jokes get old real fast. In fact, these shows don't even feel like they're Disney material.
The only way Disney will redeem itself (well, redeem seems harsh. I'll just say get back on top) is if they focus on making really good classic movies like Princess and the Frog (I loved that movie). Luckily, Disney Land gets them a lot of support to keep running along with other things such as merchandise and so forth. Still, to this day I would say MLP is being more successful then over 80% of the cartoons/networks that are up today on TV/online.
