I picked it up with a friend and I played a few mins of the single player campaign and did some multiplayer with my friend.. and I stink at it currently but its pretty solid and not all that unlike CoH1.
I really enjoyed COH1 and all the expansions but for some reason I can't seem to muster the same enthusiasm for COH2. I think it's because COH1 had the persistent upgrade tree which COH2 bins in favour of this weird achievement system. The whole thing seems far more geared around multiplater with this horrid, incomprehensible menu that greets you when you start the game up.

It's very similar to COH1. If you liked the first you'd probably like this - did you every play Dawn of War II?
It's kind of like that but WW2, meaning more cover and less OTT.
There are some weird mechanics to get used to in the new one, and it seems a little more micro-managy at times (bringing squads up to strength manually using conscript squads comes to mind). Some of the Campaign missions are a little more linear, but on the flipside, those that aren't generally have bigger maps.

I'd still say wait for the complete edition because there is all sorts of exclusivity/DLC bollocks in play right now so while you might get vanilla cheap the rest might still cost you a fortune.
I say get the Company of Heroes 1 Complete Pack since you haven't played that, it's also cheaper, far more content and mechanically near identical to CoH2.

Same here. I'd been waiting 7 years for this, only to realize that I didn't care that much. I'm guessing it's because my friends and I still enjoy playing the first one and the blitzkrieg mod has expanded it's lifetime.Bertylicious said:
