Seeing as Doclector stole my original question, I'll ask the opposite one. *Copy and paste thread title here*

As for me, I'll try to introduce my girlfriend to DOTA (staying away from the community, that's a given), and generally have fun over Steam, and most likely I'll see if there's a time we can meet. Long distance relationships can be hellish... And I have no other ideas beyond that.

So, what about you guys? Any special plans?

Hopefully eating chocolate.
Maybe watching a film, having cuddles.
Valentines day is not that huge for me, it's mainly `Good Excuse For Chocolate` day.

Won't actually answer the question, since, y'know, I'm single 'n all... and girls generally get irked by what I do on Valentine's Day, so... *random gestures*

I don't know about you, but, actually, I rather agree with captcha on that as far as couples are concerned. Perpetual talking has never been for me and the first day I realised I genuinely loved my (now ex-)girlfriend was the first weekend we spent together and alone, but didn't need to say a single word to each other. Everything clicked, knowing how and what to do and when, from getting up through breakfast, studying, cooking, even goofing around...

We must've eked out about a dozen words each over that weekend (aside from saying 'shh' to each other), and it was awesome...

*sigh*

Me sad now... :(

I've ordered my girl some jewelry. I'll grab some flowers (orchids). For dinner we're having King Crab legs, butternut squash fries, Red Lobster style biscuits, and baked potatoes. Not sure what I'm cooking for desert yet

My girlfriend will likely forget. If she doesn't, she'll acknowledge the day, then ignore me the rest of the evening.

Thankfully, I've got tickets to the ballet with a friend the next night.

...

Uh... *not sure if serious and wonders if you get the implications of that particular plant*

Probably not a good idea to 'grab' or give any 'orchids' to your girlfriend on what is ostensibly a romantic day.

Yeah, I meant carnation. She isn't particular about what kind of flowers she gets but she isn't a fan of roses.

Ridiculous amounts of sex
Since i'm not a classy guy i'm going to e-TipEx the line that Daystar put in that quote and go with that answer.

If my wife doesn't agree i'll be having rediculous amounts of DIY sex.

No plans currently, which sucks even more that it normally would since it's my birthday (21st if you're wondering) and because things are a bit rough between us (my fault really. Haven't been able to get a job).

I'll celebrate it most unglamourously a couple of days before, since my girlfriend is leaving town for a week on the 13th. This should allow me to be suitably depressed on the 14th, as usual.

We're just gonna meet up at school. We're having the real celebration on the 8th, which is our anniversary of hooking up. :p

On that day? Umm...not sure. We're probably just going to hang out at one or the other's house, or maybe go see a movie. If that awesome cheap theater we like to go to finally gets wreck it ralph, we might go see that.

A very romantic thursday in college. I dunno. The gift I ordered isn't gonna have arrived in time, which is lame. I'll have to get a different one.

Probs hang and watch a movie I guess. We'll see..

On the bright side, 5 days later we're headed to Paris! She's never been so I'm taking her. That'll be much more fun.

For those of us without any knowledge of flowers, why would it be taboo to celebrate a romance with orchids? What do they symbolize? I googled it and got love, beauty, affection etc. which seems appropriate enough.

I'll have you know that question was bought fair and square. It just happened to be bought by me from me.

Shortly after I stole it.

Well 'orchid' means 'testicle'... erm... yeah... -_-

It's not necessarily taboo, but it could be potentially full of smirk-worthy embarrassment.

*Shrug* Maybe I'm just good at talking and found someone to talk to. It really depends on the person you're dating. The person I'm with doesn't really talk much either, except when it's with me.

I'm not sure, being long distance and all, so hopefully we can watch a movie together or play a game together. That would be really nice. I would love to do something together.
