And oh boy, it's one Hell of a thing.

http://destructivecreations.pl/isdefense/

Basically, ISIS has took over most of Africa/the Middle East and now are invading Europe. You get to defend European shores against infinite waves of ISIS attackers until you, inevitably, get murdered.

Honestly, I'm too busy laughing my ass off at this to think anything else. Especially since the final paragraph of the description says this game is their "personal veto against what is happening in the Middle East nowadays". To think that this game implies any kind of intelligent anti-ISIS message is just... so fucking crazy I can't help but to laugh.

Also, ISIS has the money for military-grade amphibious landing craft but still have gun trucks. This shit is just comedy gold.

This reminds me of when they had Not!Al-Qaeda in C&C: Generals with the GLA fighting against both the US and China with nothing more then shoeless workers and "AK-47s for EVERYONE!".
At least there, you could kinda see they weren't taking it seriously, especially when it was the same game that had a Chinese general with a nuclear fetish, the US had working orbital death rays, and "Dr. Thrax", a GLA Bio-terrorist who got his degree in the mail from an online course.
While it got controversy in the same sense, it was less then a few years after 9/11 so it was kinda understandable.

Where was I going with this again?...Welp, they are clearly trying to court internet outrage again.
All I'm going to say is with how much people are going on about ISIS taking over the world, it's almost as if they WANT it to happen.
I know they are terrible shitbags and all, but the only reason they are winning as much as they are is because the region of the middle east they are in was already destablished and mostly blown to shit to begin with.

It really does feel like these guys are hoping this one will go viral again.

Thing is that I doubt it'll really work. I mean they're going down the call of medal of battlefield approach. I have to say, ISIS launching an invasion of Europe, them even having the manpower to hold most of the Middle East, it's laughable.

I see this one fading into obscurity very quickly.

Well, they seem to be intentionally trying to trigger people who are (rightly) going to feel sensitive about this, especially in places like Paris and London, for cheap publicity.

I personally like the phrase "where the expansion of ISIS went out of hand".

Out of hand?

I personally think they're a bunch of jokers but, y'know, that's just my 2c.

The vicious cycle has almost continued, but we can still stop it! Just ignore this shitty game, just like we should have with Hatred, and it will be dead without any of the internet drama and before they pick up the controversy sales.

A resounding MEH from me, I don't see this getting the Buzz hatred did. I mean Hatred trailer made me feel physically ill watching it. This doesn't do nothing for me. Not that I would of bought it either way, never will play Hatred either.

Also there were elements of Hatred that at least seemed kinda cool. Like hijacking cars and fully destructible buildings. This just looks like another version of the dig in, survive as many wave as possible bullshit.

I don't know how this can catch on as controversial unless they go full-blown Islamphobia with it which I highly doubt. in fact I think a lot of people would love to play a game in which you kill ISIS members.

Edit: apparently the YouTube comments are already calling it a great immigrant shooting simulator and are excited to play it.

(just to clarify I'm not calling the developers racist just the comments)

Kinda funny that the thread author has a hitler avatar and the game is about ISIS which are kinda the new nazis.
Well, it is interesting how something is much more offensive when it's happening now, than if it happened in the past.

It's human nature though, to react more strongly to current events then historical ones. Nobody blinks twice at a WWII game, for example, but the content may very well be upsetting to those who lived through that particular period in history.

Here's the trailer for those who can't be bothered looking.

Nice to see that the next Call of Duty is coming along nicely. Turret sections looking good.

Good job, good job. Carry on.

Y'know, I feel I should be outraged by this, but here, I just can't. Because in all honesty, in the modern day, ISIS is practically the equivalent of Nazis in regards to them being the closest approximation to "evil" that I can say. Honestly, you could choose more morally questionable foes to mow down in the game.

You know, there is clearly put so much effort to make it pretty. But sadly they wanted to make it another generic military shooter.
You know what would be cool?
Aliens
Demons
Robots
Skeletons
Lovecraft Creatures
Kaijus
Everything [maybe not Zombies I guess], but don't put shoot generic military soldiers....

Game sounds really terrible in concept and in gameplay. Never liked the wave shooter games myself. But it also sound sort of hilarious in a "the hell are they talking about" sort of way. I suspect some minor sales on steam and an early grave in the bargain bin basement.

Well, that is unless people try to get it banned. Then I expect it to get noticed by everyone, many who will curiosity buy it to find out what it so bad. And given who it is by, what it is covering, and who currently is making the news media, I suspect we will hear about the outrage the game should make pretty soon. After all, all that outrage gives them clicks as well, and they need them those clicks.

I stand where I always do though. Game should not be banned in any extent because some people dislike the topic, subject matter or execution. -sigh- This game is the groundhog check for the year, isn't it? Too see if the video game will see its controversy for 6 more months of manufactured outrage fuel.

I too find it funny, not much else.

I guess I could kinda be slightly upset that they are covering up their obvious edgy-sensationalism by taking advantage of real life events wherein people lost loved ones, but every non-shitbrained person who is familiar Hatred knows that they arent sincere.

But TBH, the game doesnt look as bad as I thought it would, at least from a graphical standpoint. It doesnt look good, it just doesnt look as shitty as I thought it would.

I think they got the wrong handle on this controversy business, if they wanted to surf the wave of outrage, they should have made you play as a ten year old ISIS boy, fighting against waves of US, French, Russian and Syrian forces while beheading hostages to refill health and collecting underage girls for turning into human suicide grenades or slaves or whatever. I dunno, it seems they really either have no idea about controversy or are just making some blind attempt at modern heroism to appeal to the proud nationalists of any western country whatsoever.

Like with hatred I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to take offense to here. The lazy nihilism on display might be the most annoying thing. But violence and shooting ISIS members in a turret section mostly sounds boring if that's your entire game. It reminds me of GTAV where, like with this game, world affairs are referenced in a bitter cynical way, and then that's it. No further insight, nothing interesting to say about the matter. Like with hatred, getting outraged about this is silly. What are we actually supposed to get angry about, that isn't in twenty other games, probably far more pointy than anything destructive creations is going to make?

Maybe this'll turn out good, but I expect it to be another thouroughly mediocre game like hatred.

More than anything else, it sounds like they're just late to the party with that idea.

This isn't even notable for the subject matter. It is notable for being, essentially, Turret Section: The Video Game.

I mean, Im sure that, as far as turret sections go, this is going to be the best of the best, but like, you stand in one spot and aim. I can't say that this is going to be an entertainment experience that I am particularly looking forward to.

Twin stick shooter...
Stationary turret section...

I wonder if the next genre they tackle will be even more dull. I want to see them somehow make a hidden object game edgy.
