So... does anyone remember Pikmin?

Pikmin was a huge part of my childhood. I never played much of the original, deeming it too hard, but I became interested in the sequel, because there was no time limit.

I loved Pikmin 2. It was amazing, and the multiplayer was a blast. I'd play it with my dad every day before school, along with other staples such as Metal Arms and Starfox Assault (I was 9! Gimme a break!)

Playing Pikmin is one of my favorite memories, and I'll gladly shell out the dough for the remake on the wii.

So, does anyone else remember Pikmin?
If so, what was your favorite part, and are there any specific memories tied to it?

Haven't played 2, but the first was a blast. I should probably get on to playing the second game one of these days...

Hell yeah! I love Pikmin. Pikmin 2 was the best!

I love the lush environments, charm of the pikmin, music, and the monsters. The pikmin were always so cute, and I kind of felt bad when they died. My favorite part was using Purple Pikmin. They were so...powerful and so rare. Like rocket launchers, sort of. I saved them up, and then slammed into enemies with them.

I remember when I went into caves I broke my pikmin up into groups. I had a "hazard team" that took out things like fire or electricity, then a combat group from taking out enemies, and then a clean up crew, which was the rest of my pikmin. I used to stay up so late just trying to get every last treasure.

Yup played both and still own both ^__^

Hated the first because of the time thing but the second fixed all that and the 2-player VS thing was pretty cool.

WHY DON'T WE HAVE THE THIRD ONE YET!!? T___T

Definitely. Try getting a friend to play it with you, Vs. Mode is alright, but Co-op is really a blast, though it takes a little while to unlock. Also, I recommend the strategy guide if you can find it. It was high quality, and helped me with the game when I was 8.

I remember it... I see it in the light of a new dawn, in the smile of every baby... I loved those games. Pikmin along with Timesplitters are my favourite games EVER.

As for what I like about them, everything. The visuals, the music, the puzzles, the challenge... I could go on. Ive always been abit of a nature boy and when it comes to games im very attracted by the visuals and general style of a game (the design, music, etc) so these games were love at first sight for me.

Hmmm... I never used that much strategy. I should go back and try again.

I also agree about the graphics. They were awesome for a Gamecube game.

If the game were a 3D top-down RTS, he would own, though. The Pikmin work in a Zerg rush to overcome all obstacles.

Man, I was awesome as Olimar! I could beat your Meta Knight any day! :p

Anyway, I have the first game, but haven't played it yet - I really need to...
Yeah, I barely played it, but it's one of the few examples of a concept keeping me interested enough to play the sequel.

I love that game, I still have it and played it not too long ago actually. I wonder if they're ever going to make another one.

Did somebody say Pikmin? *enters fanboy mode*

Hands down, this is probably my favorite series ever. It's quirky, unique, and it's not afraid to throw punches your way. And I love it all: ambient sound effects, the music, the graphical direction, character design, monster design--it's like someone turned a masterpiece into a breakfast cereal and I'm enjoying my fill of this wholesome goodness.

Granted, I didn't beat the first until I beat the second one, but that was mostly because of the HOLYCRAPITSGOINGTOEATME factor of every enemy past the Awakening Wood. And then I got to the final boss, beat Pikmin 2 again, and then beat the first one.

Honestly, this has got to be one of the best series Nintendo has ever put out. And I agree with this sentiment:

I absolutely loved Pikmin.

The enemies and the environments were so freaking awesome, that I'd constantly go in my backyard, and look for pelican-headed snakes.

...Only in Japan though. Only in Japan...

Oh, I remember it. Never played it though. Played as Olimar in SSBB occasionally, didn't really like him though.

EDIT: I do love KO'ing my opponents by having them getting eaten by that giant frog thing on Olimar's stage though. What do you call that thing again? "Polywog"? Something like that...

Well, one possible explanation for all of the strange creatures is that it's a post-apocalyptic future, in which only the mutants remain.
