Now really what do people consider good voice acting if they are calling this trash? SE didn't actually cheap out and good a lot of good VA's that have been doing a bunch of games for this.
Yeah the voice acting criticism has me scratching my head a bit. It's excellent, and they sell the jokes perfectly.

OT: My thoughts

I really, really like it.

The combat is fast and fun, The storyline is totally fucked up, in a good way, the soundtrack is the best I've heard in a long time and it is fucking hilarious. The in-game banter between Zero, Mikhail and your party members is laugh out loud funny.

It has some technical issues. The graphics aren't very good, and the frame-rate chugs along at times. But neither issue has affected my enjoyment of the game

I'm really disappointed that the Japanese voice pack doesn't work for the EU version - haven't we suffered enough?

I played the first couple of missions and the English voices are fine, I actually kinda like them, but I pre-ordered this game for a reason.

Got it yesterday myself and been loving it. Very happy its more Drakengard 1 than 2.
Don't recall the Drakengard games having so much banter, and humour like this game does but thats not a bad thing.

Well the main character in the first one was a mute >.< gave his voice as the pact for the dragon.

But..but... Hideous English voice acting was one of the charms of Drakengard.
So they screwed that up :/

Still probably getting the game tho, the return of hideous demonic giga babies pleases me very much.

*Googles: Drakenguard 3 dual audio?*
*Finds that it isn't dual audio*
*Declines to purchase*
*Checks a youtube video of the English VAs for a laugh*

Aaah, hideous garbage as always.

You're asking for thoughts eh? Well it looks interesting. And I think there's a lot of very cool artwork of the protagonist, both official and unofficial.. and ehrm.. very unofficial.

I'll probably watch it played by an importer at some point on Twitch. As far as JRPGs go unless it's dual audio I don't touch it. Been that way since the earliest days. American anime/JP vidya circuit voice actors are fucking disastrous. Without. A. Single. Exception.
When you seek out the worst in things, that's all you ever see. "without a single exception"? Not even Persona, Fire Emblem Awakening, or Bravely Default?

Now, I'm not going to say the English version is better than the original, because the original voice over was amazing. However, the English version was just fine, just not as great as the original.

It looks like an upres of a PS2 game and yet it still struggles to maintain a framerate above 20 and the framerate dips even when there aren't any enemies on screen. How does that happen?!

Anyway, I saw some gameplay of it on youtube, and it honestly doesn't look very good. It basically looks like dynasty warriors crossed with Onechanbara, and constantly covers your screen with blood which is incredibly annoying.

So yeah, can you tell I'm not a fan?

Sadly, like Nier, Square Enix gave the game the budget of an indie game, even though it's hellavalot more enticing and unique story and concept-wise than the likes of Final Fantasy's latest iterations.

It's definitely not worth playing for it's gameplay, that's for certain. The story and characters however are very intriguing, but the main character's actions make sense only after you get through all the endings, which is why the game likely isn't for everyone.
