Most recently, I finished The Girl Who Played With Fire. I need to buy the other two..didn't know it was a trilogy. I also want to finish the Dark Tower series. I wish I had more time.
I finished the series 3 years back. It keeps getting straight up to the ending.LastMondaysHangover said:I recently took up the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King, I can honestly say I'm hooked and I'm only on the second book!
Really? I much preferred the 1st over 2nd, and it is just above the 3rd. There was more humour and freshness in the 1st one... I reckon they suffered from Sequel Decay. Why do you prefer 'em?Count Igor said:Amulet of Samarkand - Four times before. (The sequels are even better!)
Not sure, but I like the fact that Natty-Boy has a lot more power now, and that there's more interesting and serious stuff going on, rather than the old 'Power crazy man with power' line.GiglameshSoulEater said:Really? New Scientist, 9 october 2010 issue. Interesting stuff.
Well, as a counter to the whole 'Book app' idea, this is mainly because of the kindle's screen. You don't get sore eyes form reading it, and it's power consumption is far less than that of a smart phone or similar. As for the feel, then that's really up to you I guess.cheshitescat said:Read through Pooh and the Philosophers, again, along with a collection of ethical theories (again). Going to read the Intuitionist and the Colossus of New York by Colson Whitehead next, out of a sort of obligation more than interest, but whatever. I try to read a book a week, if not more, but I have less and less time.
As for the kindle and readers in general: they're a cute idea, but with smart phones and the ipad that can support reader apps of their own, then the independent peripheral seems a bit superfluous. Besides, I like holding a book in my hands.
Oh dear, that sucks...smithy_2045 said:I can't read.
