Ages 1-4:

"You don't know any better, you're just a baby/toddler!"

Ages 5-12:

"You're just a kid, what do you know?"

Ages 13-20:

"Shut up, you snot-nosed brat. You can't possibly know what it's like to be MY age!"

Ages 21-49:

If it's an older person talking to you, then it's about the same as above. Remove the 'snot nose' part if you're over 30. If it's someone younger, then it's "Shut up old-timer, I'll kick your ass!"

Ages 50-Death:

"You've forgotten what's it's like to be young, and your old-fashioned views are irrelevant in this day and age."

It will never ever ever stop.

It's never gonna stop :|
Unfortunately, even if you have far more of an understanding than a 50 year old, they will always be as condescending as possible regardless of your age as long as you are younger.

Depends what the people are like who you associate with really. It's not some international law that you will stop being patronizer when you are this age. You might never get patronized at all, you might get patronized 'till the day you die. Just depends who you're talking to and what you're talking about.

Do what I do and use big words. No one argues with you if you have a better vocabulary.

I think that it depends significantly on the intelligence and cogency of the point that someone's trying to make. If a 14 year old kid comes up to me and is able to engage in a reasoned discussion on something, I am absolutely willing to respect both him/her and his/her opinion. However, I do know that there are people less willing to cope with people younger than them. Therefore, I would say that by the time you're 18 or 20 people start to take you more seriously. Granted, the moment you're away from high school and into college you start getting treated more and more like an adult, so I suppose that I'll set that as my cutoff: it's my opinion that it doesn't matter how old you old, just how experienced and educated.

Everyone older than you will always think they know more than you. And you are never the oldest person.

It never ends... but at least you can hope to be like me and look 18 when 27 so when some asshole tries to pull the.. I'm older then you I know better then you card... you can tell them to piss off your older then they are. It really is magical calling someone "kid" after they just got done saying something like.... look kid, I'm 23 maybe you will understand when you get my age.

Never, there will always be someone, and maybe in some cases they will be right. But there is not a cut off point. I'm 30 and I still get that kind of thing from older people sometimes. Its annoying but unfortunately you're just gonna have to get used to it.

When you kill everyone who patronizes you with exploding magic kung fu. Why do you think no one ever told Raoh he had a dumb helmet or made fun of him for riding a giant horse when everyone else had cars? When your kung fu is strong enough you can do whatever you want and no one will criticize you for it because they know everyone who tried before died from a strike to the secret pressure points that make them explode.

I have actually RARELY seen that on these forums. As for in real life? There isn't a cut-off age. Just deal with it. If someone doesn't want to listen to me or thinks I'm wrong due to my age, I won't listen to them either.

Once you reach an age for people stop giving you hard time about being young you get it for being old so it never stops.

Personally, if you make a good point in a discussion, whether you are 17 or 77, I'm giving you props. But yeah, it will never go away.

This.

Not necessarily restricted to age though, but you will always be either too young (and so your opinion doesn't matter), or you will be too old (same thing). If someone uses a personal characteristic to dismiss your arguments, they are not worth your time. Surely if you say something they disagree with then they should be able to explain why, rather than just point to your age.

And then when you are really old, people will say you aren't with the times.

OT: You are either inexperienced or out of touch.

You'll be talked down to until 5 years after you're dead, and even then the other angles/demons/zombies will probably still treat you like a moron.
