Usually when I upgraded my 'gaming rig' I gave away the old stuff to friends and family so a lot of my old games are probably lost. I still think I have the original 5 1/4" floppy and manual for Bard's Tale 1. It was released in 1985 but I probably bought it in 1989.
Between 1983 and 1988 there is a bit of a gap in original C64 titles since we copied most games. It was almost impossible to buy games in shops back then. I remember sending mail orders by old-fashioned snail mail and receiving the game from the publisher 1-2 months later.
My first Amiga game was Sim City, my first PC game was probably Civilization 2.
I would love to get extra bonus points for having games on casette tape or Vic 20 cartridges because I used to own some, but I'm sure they are lost in the mists of time.
I'm a fairly young gamer and I didn't own any games until I got a PS2. The oldest copy of a game I have NOW is Freekstyle, a motorcross racing game for many consoles, but primarily the PS2. What's the oldest game I've played? Mortal Kombat 4 I believe, I'm unsure. That or Golden Eye. My friend had an N64 when I was younger. Now, I have a new friend with an N64. We play MK4 a lot. Good times.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_Patrol for some kind of Commodore. It's older than I am. The husband of our nanny used to have it and gave it to us (the computer and the games of which moon patrol was our favorite)
Mario Bros 3 NES. I've never even HAD an NES, but that game came in one of those "Mystery box" garage sale thingers.
The oldest game I personally bought is probably the Super Mario Bros 3 remake for the GBA (Ironically enough). I had a bunch of older stuff, but I gave them away to friends and family, since my older consoles have long kicked the bucket.
I gave all my PS2 games away since my PS2 broke (Ratchet & Clank 2 was the first game I had), so the oldest game I have a physical copy of would be Beyond Good & Evil.
I still own my original NES and all the games I ever got for it. Out of those titles, the oldest one I own would probably be Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt.
Oh yeah, it still works too. Nintendo consoles are built like brick shithouses and can survive a lot of abuse.
