So, how do you think we are going to beat the reapers at the end of mass effect 3?

Let's look at the odds:

A single reaper had weapons that burned through the toughest council ship in seconds.
Had almost impossible to penetrate shields.
Ridiculously tough armor.
Was larger than any ship in the galaxy.
Nearly destroyed the entire council fleet.
Took the whole citadel fleet as well as commander shepard fighting it's avatar as well as citadel defenses to bring it down.

Now in mass effect 3, there's thousands of these things.

The only way for bioware to write for shepard to beat them is with a convenient as-of-yet-unseen-anti-reaper-plot-device. OR by suddenly making the reapers weaker for a reason that they won't explain but what bioware's moronic fans will just absorb anyway and continue to praise them for their great story telling regardless.

So what do you guys think will happen?

Just to give some scale of what we are up against:

This:

Times 1000000

Have I mentioned that only one of these things nearly destroyed the whole fleet protecting the citadel?

Likely like this [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independance_Day_%28film%29].

Probably something with somehow turning their indoctrination effect against themselves or something like that. Likely there'll be a single boss reaper whom you'll have to enter to upload the virus to corrupt them and then it'll spread and you'll win.

Or lasers. Lasers always seem to do the trick.

He will stop them by dressing up in one of Liara's thongs and doing a karaoke version of "It's Raining Men" and dad dancing on the Citadel.

The reapers, being unable to process what the hell it is they are witnessing, will all explode.

Shepard saves the day and spends the rest of the game trying to convince his team to never tell anyone what he did while trying to get Tali to delete it off her phone.

Bit of a spoiler for Mass Effect 2 here, but it looks like we need a serious answer up in this thread :p

Remember on the mission to recruit Tali, the sun is going a little insane?

My guess is that we'll be leading the Reaper fleet into a trap there and then make 'em go by-by with a supernova. Or, at least, that'll be one way to do it. I have a feeling we'll be able to choose.

Since I honestly have no idea, I say we have a dance off.

Just look at those moves, no way we'd lose.

There's gonna be some great weapon the Protheans designed and left on some backwater planet for the rest of the universe to finish. But when you get there the Reapers will attack the citadel and kill everyone. Then you assemble your team (Wrex,Mordin,Legion,Garrus etc.) Go 10 on 1 000 000 against all the reapers and kill them all because you're Commander Shepard (with allies).
Or you just ally all races in the universe and gather a big-ass fleet for an epic Slobberknocker.

I don't think there are that many reapers.

I think this because EDI said it would require millions of humans to finish the human reaper.

And if Reapers were easy to build, then there'd have been more than Sovereign in the galaxy.

Instead, they're all chilling in dark space. Which also makes you wonder why they do that...

I could be wrong of course. Who knows how long they've existed.

I think Sovereign was bigger and tougher than the average reaper.
At least that's what Bioware's going to say.
The rest have a reasonable chance of being brought down.
Also; Sovereign had an entire geth fleet as backup during the attack on the Citadel.

I'm expecting a Deus Ex Machina (the term not the game) really. The way they've built up the Reapers I can't see any possible way for the good guys to win without it.

Magic box of appending Reaper doom anyone?

lol

Trapping them in Dark Space with no way back and possibly getting trapped yourself?

EDIT: Or the Reapers are some sort of Hivemind, and you go and destroy the main one.

TAKTIKLE NOOOK!!!

I think it's a device to make a 4th game about how Earth was absolutely butt-fucked by these things and they have to find a way to stop them FAST. Not a Mass Effect fan so I'm not massively impressed by how these "super beings" are just deciding to go to Earth now. Don't mind if I avoid the next Mass Effect, the last two were pretty boring.

By not letting the reapers attack in the first place. How do you do this you might ask?
Not buying the game.

Yeah, I have a sense of dread that the plot is going to turn quickly toward the absolute bullshit zone very quickly. I'm worried that the dues-ex-machina is going to become too much for the game.

As with all Mass Effect games it will end up as organic versus synthetics to a degree, so I imagine that the fact that the Reapers are all synthetics will have something to do with the solution. It could be that the solution destroys all synthetic life, which would provide the scruple of what to do with the Geth. My guess involves: The Geth are heavily involved in the solution, the genophage will be cured as a safety measure, some kind of bullshit super-weapon will be invented. I'm looking forward to the rachni helping me out, though...
