As long as the servers actually work (looking at you Farcry 2), it'll be fine. Get over and just have fun with the game.

Well, I can't say I really care. As long as it doesn't turn into the next Xbox Live. I think they should allow custom servers or whatever, but I don't think it'll affect the average gamer very much.

Granted i don't know much about online pc gaming.
There are many people who would never play a FPS on a console over a PC, like me.

I just shudder when I think of playing a FPS without a mouse.

[sup]Also, looks like boycotting CoD: MW2 is the new thing.[/sup]
Yeah, pretty much. Boycotts are the new "thing" these days.
We should boycott boycotts XD :p

But it seem stupid taking away the ability to alow players to pay for servers for them to run..

I've tried playing FPS's on the PC, I've tried browsing countless servers. But in the end, the community always seems to be less friendly to newcomers and players with low skill levels than the randoms on the console's matchmaking. That's why this won't affect me in the slightest. That and I'm getting it on the 360 =P. However, to the PC players, I feel sorry for you. But only in the slightest, because now you get to see how better matchmaking is.

Still have my pre-order. Can care less about matchmaking and such, I am fine with it on my 360. Getting it mostly for single-player anyways, multiplayer is just an added bonus to me which makes an awesome game even awesomer.

I don't care at all about dedicated servers.

I alwase join some random game anyway.

Any time I find a custom server with its own rules I leave. I wanna play the actual game. Not some crappy mod.

Dedicated Servers are something I look forward to in PC multiplayer, so I'm less than thrilled with MW 2 not having any. Then again this IW.NET sounds a lot like Blizzard's Battle.Net, which works...but that's about it. It mechanically functions, but it isn't fun to use.

You know whats gonna happen? Hackers. Modders. There gonna crack that ***** open and make it the way they want it. Gonna copy MW2 from 1 game, remove all protection, and give it to everybody on a private server.

Dedciated servers are just ones that are used for one purpose. So in this case, you have to share, which means you have to be the same as everyone else.

Actually I'm not sure why this is a problem...

Yeah canceled mine. Got it specifically for the multi player. Ill rent it on 360 for a night or two and finish it instead. I dont know if ill even do that ive been totally put off the game after this news.

Plus American devs need to realise that there are people living outside of the US that can not use matchmaking since it is laggy as all hell.

I like going into my local server which doent chew my quota and seeing familiar faces all the time. I like having some server mods which track stats and give you feedback on your game. I dont appreciate connecting p2p with people across the world not even speaking english on the mic (my recent experience with uncharted 2 the other night)

Flame me all you want but im furious that a big title like this will be dead online within a week like Operation Flashpoint and Fear 2.

Each to his own.

Personally i'm the other way round.
