I know I'm really, really, really late to the party here, but I started playing WET today -- since I finally got a copy -- and while I'm only something like two hours in, I'm having a lot of fun with it. The gameplay is enjoyable, the gleeful use of profanity makes me laugh, the grindhouse aesthetic is ... well, it's a grindhouse aesthetic, and the whole thing is just quite a bit of fun. I'm sure it'll eventually get repetitive, as it already has to an extent, but the different areas are enough to keep things interesting.

What did y'all think of WET?

Fun for the first run and I enjoyed the old film grind house look plus the songs kick ass and made me a fan of rockabilly.

Did you play through it a second time or was once enough?

I normally love games like this (I love badass chicks, I love hack-and-slash games), but the controls felt weird coming from Bayonetta and Devil May Cry, and I could never really get the hang of the multiple direction shooting.

Plus the boss fights all being QTEs was kind of annoying. And time trials can go straight to hell.

Overall I'd say a 5/10.

It's pretty fun but feels a little too loose and sloppy for my tastes. It definitely deserved more attention than it got upon release though.

Hey, I remember that game. That game may be tied with Stranglehold in my "Highest amount of times I played a demo" category. I remember my friend had the demo on those demo disks they had back in the day. I played it all the time. He hated the game, but I loved it. Just dumb fun. I really should buy it one of these days.

This. I stopped playing at one of the early bosses where clearly I am expected to hit some buttons when he is low on health, 5sec later he recovers. Tried it twice then popped the disc out. Backlog too long for gimmicks like that.

And yes the game is exactly like stranglehold so if you have played that game that you know what to expect.

If you are just looking to play a badass ninja chick get Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 or NG3:RE. They should be just as cheap by now. You get to play as Ayane, Rachel, Momiji, etc. and replay value is through the roof.

I really enjoyed it. Much more than I expected. I feel the game is highly underrated and passed over.

Twas pretty good fun. Give me rockabilly music, samurai stabbies, two sawn-offs, slow-mo, wall running, blooooooooouuurrrd, rage and a lass killing many unsavoury humans; then you'll have my mostly undivided attention!

Wet - i remember the music and the grindhouse style aaaand i really liked. I even tried to get all trophies which really doesn't happen with every game. Sometimes i just started it up only to listen to the ingame jukebox.

All I really remember about WET is that you can powerslide everywhere. and that powersliding is awesome.

WET was a fun game, not a good one. interesting ideas, sub-par execution. Soundtrack was nice, but doesn't really rank up with the greats.

Rubi was cute though. Definitely a strong female fighting fucktagonist.
