Saints Row the Third (enjoy every penny of it), Deus Ex Prequel, Star Wars the Old Republic is going to be the best of them all (was in the Full beta and enjoyed every second of it)

It was really good, but overall too sequel-y. Skyrim, Human Revolution, Portal 2, et al were great games, but I want something fresh. Fortunately, next year will bring several new IPs (and fresh sequels like Bioshock Infinite and Prey 2) so I'm really looking forward to that.
Most of the games I played this year came out last year or, earlier. Games that I did play this year from this year include Dragon Age 2 and, Duke Nukem Forver so lukewarm at best. The 3DS is alright but best in 2D. Pokemon Black and White were good but the same basic thing as the last few games. I've been enjoying Pokemon Leaf Green on the GBA, Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2 and, Perfect Dark Zero and, Fallout 3 on the 360. I've been poor this year.

This is by far my worst gaming year, considering I didn't play any games besides Freespace because my gaming devices were destroyed in a fire last year, so yeah pretty bad.
Off the top of my head, Dishonored (which will probably be amazing), Last Guardian, and while they're not new IPs, South Park and Colonial Marines are both the start of new franchises and aren't sequels to anything.Beach_Sided said:

Portal 2, Dragon Age 2, Terraria, No Time to Explain, Bastion, Saint's Row the Third, Skyward Sword, Skyrim, Infamous 2, Arkham City, Deus Ex: Human Revolution...You tell me. And that's just what came out this year, not even mentioning everything I've played this year from the backlog. Pretty damn good year, all around.

Actually it's one of the best gaming years. Started awesome with Ghost Trick, then we got Gen 5 Pokemon, Portal 2, Catherine, Persona 2: Innocent Sin in the states after so long, Saints Row 3, Return to Dreamland.
If it weren't for the fact that Ace Attorney Investigations 2 didn't get released here, I'd say this was probably the best year I've had. It's still great, but it coulda been near perfect.

This has been a really good year for me. New Halo (sort of), new Dead Rising, new Saints Row, new Elder Scrolls, new Batman, new Portal, new InFamous, new Mortal Kombat.
On top of that, Gears 3 was way better than I was expecting it to be. And I played my first Marvel vs Capcom that I actually enjoyed (Frank West was all the motivation I needed).
And if that's not enough, I still have RAGE and Deus Ex and Crysis 2 (not to mention Crysis on 360)that I haven't gotten around to playing yet, among others.
I know it's more popular to be cynical and say everything sucks, but I have had a great year for gaming. Probably the best since 2007.
