I never will understand people who push the WiiU.
I can also "never" understand why people buy Xbox One, and PS3 either. But you do understand. You understand perfectly well. You just personally don't see it as a valid reason for you to buy the Wii U for those reasons and incite people to do the same.

Sure its got a couple of alright platformers, Zelda has always been a decent action adventure series, Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta but even then, what else is there? Monster Hunter? Its essentially if you were to take Dark Souls 2, multiply all the its problems by 500x, now try your best to make the animations as terrible and possible so you cant tell the difference between a turning boar and a body smacking boar, quadruple the broken hitboxs, and make the combat awkward and stilted. Now make it completely impossible to play solo as most mid and late game bosses have more health then even 90 minutes of constant damaging couldn't kill. Now add never ending grinding until about 15 hours of play when you actually CAN keep up with the progression of bosses right until the final stages, where you need to do further more grinding.
I like how this turned into a rant about Monster Hunter.

And apparently that's a system seller to most people. I guess thats good,
There were people who bought a PS4 over the sheer fact that Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced to be coming to the system at some point in the future- but who knows when.

That's not even getting into the fact that both the PS4 and the Xbox One had nothing to really show at launch aside from a few tech demo games and upgraded ports so....

keep the idiots off of Dark Souls and other good games, and I guess they're better for it.
seriously?

Very simple, people are willing to buy a PS4 with knowledge of one or two games coming out for it because they know IT WILL EVENTUALLY get more games. That is never such a certainty with Nintendo.
More games doesn't mean more games people want. You have people getting a PS4 and an Xbox and the only thing they KNOW they will ever play is Madden, Call of Duty, or whatever Gearbox puts out.

I know that when I buy a Wii U, all the games I'm interested in playing will be on it. Everything else will be on PC.

Your bias is strong. Just because you don't see games on the Wii U to your tastes doesn't mean nobody else does.

It's definitely good that you got new and have Nintendo's warranty. I got mine new, and (while it was still under warranty) the gamepad did indeed fail and need to be fixed.

EDIT:

This. Exactly this. As of right now, I see zero reason to buy a PS4/XB1 until either Kingdom Hearts III or Final Fantasy XV comes out. Conversely, the Wii U has several games already on the shelves that I want to play (Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World, Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, ZombiU, etc.) and even more announced for future release (Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Smash Bros., etc.). So yeah, the Wii U iss the only console that I feel is worth getting at this point.
