So I broke my headset.....

I was playing Napoleon: Total War earlier today and, being a Total War game, it tends to crash a lot. I spent a significant amount of time winning a battle that I wouldn't be able to win in an auto resolve, and just as the final enemies make a suicidal charge at my defenses, the game crashes. So I, being the mature PC gamer that I am, threw my expensive Sennheiser headset with as much force as I could at my desk.

With that said, can anyone suggest a high quality, durable, and decently priced headset that covers both ears and has a good mic? Emphasis on the durable part.

Seriously any suggestion would help. I'm not even that picky on durability since I only need it to last for about two months anyways.

Try The Creative Fatality Headset, I've heard great things about it myself, yet have not had the funds to actually buy one.

I love my Logitech G35 7.1 Surround Sound headset [http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam-communications/internet-headsets-phones/devices/5095] so much that I don't even have speakers. I just use this. It's comfortable, the sound is amazing, and the voice quality is great.

Not sure on durability. There's metal parts, but also plastic. I wouldn't see it survive more than perhaps a fall out a second story window onto grass, or maybe a few thousand meters if attached to a parachute and a beaver.

Try Koss. They have a lifetime warranty on their headsets so it has to be durable.

I'm sorry sir, but unless you have Windows Vista, this is not the case.

But ones you can get at Best Buy for around $20 are surprisingly durable.

Simple answer. Buy some cheap headphones and a dog. Next time Total War decides to have a fail, punch the dog. This will, of course, enrage the dog and encourage you to sort out some patching and possibly an upgrade to Windows 7.

Learning through being pain is ALWAYS the best way.

Well maybe not for you but I'm using XP and I've had chronic crashes with every Total War game from Rome to Napoleon. I think it's more of a processing problem for when battles last too long. Anyways I like Isalan's idea except, instead of animal abuse/getting bit, I'll just keep my broken headset around for the sole purpose of being thrown at something. Not like I could break it anymore than it already is.
