So I created a free WoW account...

Mainly in anticipation for The old republic. You know, get some MMO experience under my belt before ST:TOR sucks me in. Now, normally this would not be a problem, but, I have an addictive personality. So what should I do? Should I try and just go with it, hope I get bored with it and don't become a basement dwelling "WoW zombie"? Or should I go and delete the installed game right now?

I've been WoW free for.... 2 weeks now. Really, I only every so often played at a friends account. I quit before TBC. Trust me when I say it's not worth it to be caught up in all of this.
I would say find something else. But that's just me.

I would say give it a shot. But inform a good friend and let him know the date to slap the hell out of you if you're not bored with it by then.

EDIT: I should probably mention I used to play WoW, but while it held me for maybe a month, I quickly got bored with it. Just required too much to play.

Ignore the people who say it "Steals Your Soul" it's just like any other MMORPG, any game for the matter, it is actually less addicting then say Call of Duty and Starcraft 2.

It's fun, large and has lots of content if you enjoy it stick with it, if you do not quit.

WoW, given a chance, is really fun.

By the time TOR comes out, you will have most likely leveled a toon to 85 and experienced end-game content.

You should be fine and should have an easy switch

WoW is only a viable option because so many people play it. I've played quite a few MMOs and I can tell that games like RIFT are just so SO much better.
