I never used to let anything other than my minigun do the talking for me. Although a mic does help sometimes.
Also, what about women? I've tried talking on XBox Live before, and nearly every time, whether it's L4D, COD, or- well, anything, I always get guys bitching about how I'm playing, whether I be better or worse. It's sickening.Trivun said:On a side note, what about dumb people? People who can't talk would have no need for a mic, yet may well enjoy gaming as much as anyone else. Where do people stand on that issue?
Yes, there is always the glorious mute button. I was just thinking that not being able to shout at the opponents would at least remove some of the blatant abuse. At least in my mind that makes sense. But thanks for the reply.TheBarefootBandit said:I don't have a 360, but I've encountered the issue with Halo a few times (when I've played it). It happens for me on Killzone 2 and CoD as well so...teh_gunslinger said:That actually raises a point I've been wondering about. I don't know if you play on Live or whatever, but I often hear stories from Halo that the opposing guys are screaming at you? Is that true? Is games played with 'All Talk' on? If so, why? At least in TDM and CTF it seems silly.TheBarefootBandit said:I can't stand mics when you've got people screaming murder over one kill they got. It's just annoying, I just like playing and doing my own thing.
But like someone said above, if you're playing co-op a uselful way of communicating would help (like in RES5).
You just got to mute them![]()

I guess I could do that. Trouble is, it's not worth it since I'd hardly ever use it anyway, and I tried using one before (the old one that came with my parents' PC years ago). It didn't work. If I'm only going to be using it for L4D, which I don't have time to play much anyway now, then it's not worth it. I'll just find servers where you don't get kicked for not having a mic, though I do see peoples points that it's a pretty vital communication tool for the game.Snotnarok said:You can get a good mic for 15 bucks, why not just get one and use it when people want you to and not worry about it?
Some people prefer it, it's a 15 dollar tool that you can have just incase someone wants to use it. I like having people with mics around to chat with so it's not just a silent game. I'm not saying I'd kick you if you didn't but it's just something I prefer.Trivun said:I guess I could do that. /threadTPiddy said:I believe that if you go online with the intent of playing a co-op based game, it's just common courtesy to have a mic or a good method of communication.
Some people can manage to be good co-operative team mates without the use of a mic, but these people are few and far between.
