So, I finally got a PS4. What other games should I get?

Preferably:

1) Games with a good single player story that I can't get on the PC(ie Last of Us Remastered)

OR

2) Games with good same screen co-op for me and my wife(ie Diablo 3)

I already have those two games plus I'll be getting Lego Marvel Super Heroes. Any other suggestions?

(And to be honest, I don't feel 100% about the purchase, but my wife has wanted one for us for a long time, so this thread is kind of about justifying it with good games I'm not aware of.)

Well, Bloodborne and Until Dawn come to mind.

The former is a challenging but rewarding action RPG. It has a cool story, but like with other Souls games, you have to personally collect all the pieces by reading item descriptions and talking to NPC's.

The latter is a horror game that is basically interactive movie. Intriguing story, characters that are spoofs (is that the word?) of horror genre stereotypes and relatively easy gameplay. Basically, it is a better David Cage game than those done by David Cage.

Maybe I'll add something later.

Bloooooooooodboooooooooorne. It's got a lovely single player experience, not heavy on the story, obviously- but great atmosphere.

Also the Borderlands 2 Handsome Collection is okay for splitscreen co-op, me and my boyfriend played that a bit together. I hate how hard it is to find a decent co-op splitscreen game these days.

Yep, Bloodborne and Until Dawn are the stand-out exclussives as of yet.

Your milage my vary with Until Dawn, but if you love cheesy horror shlock, it'll be right up your alley. It's already been said, but it is like a David Cage game, except with a sly wink.

And if you like the Souls games you'll probably like Bloodborne, too.

As for split-screen co-op... Resident Evil Revelations 2 maybe.

Ratchet and Clank? (Need I say more?

The Last of Us Remastered? (A critically acclaimed PS3 game put on the PS4.)

Infamous First Light/Second Son? (Open world rpg with a rather disappointing morality system still pretty to look at, though.)

Killzone? (Shooter. Thats it)

Knack?... Knack? Okay, I'll let myself out now.

Right, I promised to comeback and add something.
Here we go:

- Unless you have an Xbone, get Mortal Kombat X, because PC version is considered to be the worst one of the three;
- Gulty Gear Xrd (if you and your spouse are into fighting games);

Also, for the upcoming:
- Divinity Original Sin: Enhanced Edition. Granted, if you already have DOS for PC, you'll get the upgrade for free, but if you don't, well, why not get it for PS4? It's a light-hearted turn-based RPG, where you create 2 characters (a guy and a gal) which you can control separately in a co-op. Also, non of the NPC's avaliable have access to Fire, Earth and Witch magic, so you may want to teach your characters that.

- Persona 5. It is a series of JRPG's that so far hadn't had actually bad games. Some are considered worse than others, some are considered to be better, but evereyone of them is at least good.

Also, if your PC is not really powerful, Get Street Fighter V for PS4.

Bloodborne and Until Dawn are the obvious exclusive must-haves.
On shared screen co-op I can't think of anything, unless they ever remaster Dragon's Crown for the PS4.

I also recommend getting Bloodborne, and Until Dawn. Bloodborne's combat is legendary and the world building makes the game so incredibly immersive and addicting, and Until Dawn is just a really fun Horror romp. inFamous Second Son and First Light are pretty good but I wouldn't say that they are necessarily must buys, although I don't know how much they cost nowadays. I play Battlefield 4 on the console all the time and I think it's a hoot but maybe that makes me a "filthy console peasant casual" cuz "true" gamers would play it on PC. Definitely get Rocket League, the split screen for that game is waaaaaay too fun. And if you're looking for couch coop then Towerfall Ascension is the most fun and challenging coop game out there.

Well, you could get yourself the game with the most epic, heart rending story, based on a defining piece of Chinese literature. I am of course talking about the 'Citizen Kane of Gaming'; Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends: Complete edition.

Ok, ok, I kid, the story probably isn't what most people would count as 'good' (though, certainly entertaining), but it does fulfil category 2, same screen Co-op, which is a rarity in this day and age. And it may be the butt of many jokes, but I love the crap out of it, and have easily spent more time on it than any of my other PS4 games, and I don't even have a beautiful wife sitting next to me, congratulating me on my epic k.o. count.

If you're unaware, the games in the 'Warriors' series are hack and slashy type things, with the awesomely unique angle of you being being in the middle of a battle between two opposing armies, where you have to run around completing objectives, killing dudes, making sure your dudes don't die, etc.

Here's some gameplay to supplement that weak explanation (featuring one of my favourite playable characters, of which there are 82:

I couldn't recommend the game more, but my tastes are dumb, so take it for what it is.

Rocket League (also on PC, granted, but you didn't specify for the co-op stuff) and LittleBigPlanet 3 are both decent co-op games. Most of the exclusives above posters have already gone over.

Seconding Little Big Planet 3. It's a fun, light-hearted game which emphasizes the cooperation part of coop games. There's also a lot of character customization, unlockables, and you can even create your own levels or play other player's creations. It's full of charm.

If you're a Dragon Ball fan, Dragon Ball Xenoverse is actually a fun, if simple, game that let's you customize your own character and fight in some classic fights from the series. I won't say it's deep in terms of gameplay, but you might enjoy it. It is on Steam, though.

Yeah, Bloodborne is a very difficult game, but if you like Dark Souls, you should enjoy it. Very good quality game and the hit boxes are some of the most ridiculous (in a good way) of any game out there.

Arkham Knight is a solid game, though it's far from my favorite of the Batman games. They shoehorned the Batmobile in a little more than it needed to be, which hurt my enjoyment of the game. Still, a solid choice for a game that I don't think I'd trust on Steam.

If you enjoy racing games, Drive Club is probably one of the highest quality games available. It's not my cup of tea, but I can certainly respect the quality of the game.

Infamous Second Son is a solid sandbox game. It has a simple morality system, but the real draw is the powers. You'd be surprised how great Smoke, Neon, and Video powers actually are. The biggest problem is probably the lack of enemy and mission variety, and the lack of boss fights.

To aide you, I'll offer my own 1-10 rating on these games, save Drive Club as I'm not a racing fan, so I can't really judge it. I'll try to be fair and not allow my love of a franchise blind me to the game's actually quality.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse: 6/10
Bloodborne: 10/10
Arkham Knight: 8/10
Infamous Second Son: 7/10

Bloodborne without a doubt. Easily fits into my top 5 'best games'. Also Driveclub is fantastic as well if you enjoy racing games. This is the only game I ever bought the season pass for simply b/c I enjoyed it so much. They have been continuously improving the game with new updates and espescially the dynamic weather is amazing looking and near photo realistic.

Also Soma is out next week which looks really cool and seems to be released only on PC and PS4. So not entirely exclusive but still. :p

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. It's so easy to pick up and put down... and there's plenty there to keep you busy.
