So I finally Platinumed Dark Souls...

Roleplayed the whole way through, made my character with my DnD character in mind and tried to put him into the world of Dark Souls. Had a great time! Pretty solid writing in there with the backstory and was really surprised by the enemy designs.
Still, in my opinion, it misses something. That click that Demon's Souls had. I can't lay my finger on it.

The event I remember most is being stuck in the Depths with a sliver of life and no Estus. I knew I could just travel back safely and rest up...but I wanted to explore. Twenty terrifying minutes later I finally reached my goal, a bonfire.
I felt so warm and safe around it, it was a grand feeling.

I already got Seath and the Four Kings, and I've basically reached the borders of the gameworld.

I just got all the achievements for Dark Souls 20 minutes ago. Finished them off with the Divine weapon and Magic weapon +10's.
I had a very enjoyable experience with this game.
I need to grab the last Trophy for Demon's Souls to plat that one. I need the Insanity Catalyst.

On NG++, but been playing a lowbie so to play with my friend (which with spotty matchmaking has been... interesting.) Probably will play my other guy more soon so I can get to NG+++.

As for a story, Saturday, I died in front of the Undead Dragon (lowbie character) and my souls were left there. I got recovered the souls once but then died again. In my 2nd attempt to get them, I was hit soon after I got them. But like if some higher up or something didn't want me to die. I survived the hit with almost 0 health and made my get away.

It was strange since the dragon 1-hit me before.

I tried to keep the roleplay up, there's little to no farming to be done so that made it easier. The only time I 'broke' character was when I had to farm Souveniers of Reprisal for 2 hours, and even then I pretended I was in some vortex of hell from which I could never return;p

Did you say in the video that you are going to do a Soul Level 1 run through as a pyromancer? That sounds intense man, good luck, and post some videos of that.

Indeed I will, try that is. If all goes well I should start recording tomorrow and uploading. Keep an eye out on the channel : ) I might make a topic here, but not sure!
As for spears, I agree. They were...meh in Demons. Though I mained the Istarella there, it just wasn't any good. The DragonslayerSpear (ornstein's soul required) is realllllly good.

You just have to slay the 3-3 boss once more, and you are done! Atleast you have the Pure Bladestone out of the way : )

Fairly on topic question, does the game get harder in NG++ and so forth? Currently half way through NG+ and to be frank it's dissapointing. Not died on a single boss, was expecting them to be ramped up a bit more then this.

Entertaining myself with getting all of the boss soul weapons instead, think I've only got a couple left.

True that, but it went rather well. Didn't really have to break character all that often since there was barely any farming. Only the NewGame+ was a bit troublesome, so I played as if the final boss had defeated me instead and put me back in jail, resetting the storysomewhat.

Indeed I did say that. If all goes well, I should start recording this week (probably around wednesday) and upload that immediatly. So keep an eye out on the channel, not sure if I'll make a topic for it.

About spears. I was an Istarella user in Demon's Souls, so I know what you mean. They looked nice, but their stats were just lack luster. Here they're actually viable. Might wanna try the Dragonslayer Spear, gained from Ornstein's Soul, it's really good. Probably the best (and longest) spear in the game.

Not many interesting things happened to me except at the very end. I couldn't kill the final boss, as he was resistant to my Lighting Iaito and I couldn't get many hits off on him with my huge Fire Zweihander, so I had to go all the way down to the Catacombs and used all of the Green Titanite that I've grinded to get a Fire Longsword +10. When back to the Kiln, summoned Solaire, and kicked the bosses ass.

Soliare survived with a sliver of health, and somehow managed to get the finishing blow, despite him only doing like 10 damage per strike.

I think I'll do another playthrough as a full on pyromancer. Later... Eventually.

Loved the game though.

I agree completely that it is missing something that Demon's Souls has. My thought is that the atmosphere in Demon's Souls was perhaps a little more morbid.
