Nothing recently (in fact, I haven't played a videogame in about a month) but I never played Mass Effect 1 until a couple of days before ME2 came out.

Nothing much, I'm afraid. Except that back in 2007, before I really started buying a lot of DS games and liking a lot of Japanese RPGs, I missed out on The World Ends With You, which now has its protagonist as my avatar. Make of that what you will.
I quoted you because I just want to emphasise how good TWEWY is... honestly, it might be my faveorite game of the last ten years, period. Top three, at least. For anyone reading this who owns a DS but hasn't played it yet, do yourself a big favour and pick it up. Engaging story, characters, combat system and bloody hilarious. It also pokes fun at itself from time to time which is something I personally respect in a game.

I just bought Diablo 2. I didn't think it would be all that great of a game. I thought it would be one of those games where I play it, I have fun, but I seem to have trouble launching it up again, maybe because I don't like the style of it or something. But Diablo 2 is just great fun, with some awesome music. I can see why people love it.

the only example i can think of is mass effect. and believe it or not, i didn't really like it. it felt too overwhelming for a new to bio ware player like myself. believe me i TRIED to like it. and i wanted to, but I couldn't handle how much crap there was to deal with. that's why i loved Half-Life 2. easy to understand. fun. exciting. other than that probably Chrono Trigger. which i got on my R4 and LOVE IT.

I just recently got Okami too, along with Katamari Damacy, and most of my Amazon wishlist consists of games that I didn't get the chance to play the first time around.

I just played Fallout 3 and New Vegas for the first time about a month ago. Well...for the first time really trying. Played Fallout 3 before and gave up on it pretty quick. So much better for the PC.

But yea, Okami is phenomenal. One of my absolute favorite games, and hands down the most beautiful game I have and probably ever will play. On another note, does anyone know if Okami-Den was any good?

I recently (like many people it seems) started Portal. Sadly, my boyfriend is the one with the Xbox and he didn't like it. Doesn't look like I'll be finishing any time soon.

Playing Okami eh?

Yes. This pleases me.

OT:Hmmm, I suppose I was late to the party when it came to playing HL 2 and the episodes.

Mostly because I didn't have a computer that could play those games on release.

...Amnesia : The Dark Descent. It's a very good game. Really. Interesting, innovative, good written.
Too bad i won't be able to play it anymore. I can't stand protagonist. Or rather - his, uhhhh, voice. All those "yhyyyhyyyyyyyyyhyyyyyy, uhmhmmmmmmmmmmm, hmmmmmmmmmmmyyyymhmhhmhmymmy" are too much related to porn industry and i am not a fan of mixing some genres. :|

I finally got around to playing a few games, but I'll start with the most recent, which would be Star Wars Republic Commando. I remember when it first came out and wanting it so much.

I only just played Portal 1 recently. I had neglected it for years out of indifference and somewhat from annoyance at constantly hearing fans make cake jokes. However, Valve was giving it away on Steam not long ago and so I thought "why not?" I feel like a jackass for having neglected this game just because it has annoying some fans, and I'm going to get Portal 2 as soon as I get the chance.

I still have to play Half Life (1), but I'm waiting for Black Mesa Source to come out. Meanwhile I'm also watching Freeman's mind, so there's really little left for me to explore in that game..

ALSO! Devil May Cry 4, bought during the summer sale. One of the best games I've played.

In August, I finally played Half-Life 2. I've owned the Orange Box since shortly after release, but only played TF2 and Portal. I tried Episode 1 for about an hour(I got confused by the order), and thought it was pretty poor. I didn't realize that I really needed to play Half-Life 2 in order to jump into Episode 1, and didn't even notice the original (HL2) was included in the game box after my underwhelming experience had turned me sour on the Half Life section. After finally realizing that the original Half-Life 2 was in(on?) the Orange Box, I gave it a whirl knowing how it's regarded. At first I was a little nervous due to my fore-mentioned experiences and it's release date, but I can honestly say that Half-Life 2 is my favorite game of all time. This game blew me away. I was breathless at parts.
It is fair to say the fucking boat outstayed its welcome though. No matter how great you think the game is, you have to agree on that don't you?

Last night I tried CoD4 and it is pretty fun, not stellar, not sophisticated, not particularly challenging, but fun. I prefer the first one though, and I prefer Brothers in Arms and Medal of Honour more than that one.
Actually, I'm a rare breed, I loved the driving parts especially the boat. I really enjoyed how they incorporated so many different types of game play.

On the flip side, I see were the controls are a subject of wrath. It had the same controls as most tanks in games (usually shouldn't be involved in small dune buggies or air rafts), but I did drop a lot of hours into Bad Company 2, so I was pretty familiar.

Oh, I was expecting you to say Minecraft. But then again, who hasn't played Minecraft at this point in time.
I've only ever played the demo of Okami and that was many years ago. My PS2 soon broke afterwards and I never got around to replacing it, so I have no way of playing Okami at all now.

Erm, recently I only got around to playing Borderlands. So far I'm enjoying it quite a lot. The only downside is that the narrative is piss-poor. Even by gaming's standards.

You JUST got around to D2?! Holy crap man, lol.
Welcome to some 10 years ago :D
I lost a good 2 years of my life to that game, and played every toon to at least 42.
My crowning achievement in that game is getting my hardcore pally to lvl 97, having full resist in hell, and being able to solo the prime evils in the secret tristy lvl, with little to no challenge. Smiterdins represent :)

OT: I finally got around to playing Okamiden, and I think they did a really nice job with it, the brushwork with the DS stick works great, I like all the characters, and Chibiterasu is the most adorable main character ever made
