The Mega Ten games are incredible. I got hooked on Digital Devil Saga years ago and have played both one and two, Devil Summoner one and two, Persona 3 and 4 (my psp broke before I got Persona 1 so I never played it), Nocturne, Devil Survivor, Strange Journey and Catherine.

All of them are great, but like any JRPG the grind can be a little tedious.

But if you would like a quick run down:

Digital Devil Saga: Classic JRPG stuff, I like the characters, the talent system is nice and customizable so you can set your characters spells and abilities. It shows it's age a little, but I love the themes of discovering one's true self.

Devil Summoner: More action oriented. Real time action battles with you and a demon. You capture demons to fight with you, can change on the fly and can fuse them into bigger, stronger ones to help fight. The story is very cultural, being about Japan balancing the old ways with a newer, more western way of life. Still, lots of fun and the battle system is more action focused.

Nocturne: It has Dante. You will have to go through a tough side dungeon for him, but he will join your team! DO IT! *cough* Anyways, another traditional JRPG, with collecting and fusing demons. I got confused on where to go a few times, and it seems like the story bits are really far between sometimes, but an enjoyable experience.

I wasn't a huge fan of Devil Survivor but I hate most strategy games real time or turn based. I played for a bit, but couldn't stick with it.

Strange Journey: I liked this game a lot, despite the odd first person dungeon crawl, but f**k the dark room with pit falls. Still, it's a fun little DS SMT game.

Catherine: Seriously, this game is so different from the others. It's drenched in both overt and subtle symbolism. Story bits are just talk to people and pick a choice, but the action pieces are a challenging block moving, tower climb thing that, to me anyways, was nerve wracking, pulse pounding frantic dashes away from "WTF WAS THAT?!?!?" It's different, and awesome but not for everyone.

All the Mega Ten games are enjoyable if you like the classic JRPG styles (except Catherine), and they're excellent games for people who like to dig a little deeper to look at themes and symbolism.

Hope that all made sense. :)

I was introduced to the series from Persona 4 Golden. I have to say the Golden Ending is far more satisfactory than the normal ending. After finishing it for the first time I immediately bought Persona 3 FES on the PSN as well as a copy of Persona 4 Arena. Since then I also started playing other games with the SMT title.
The last games that I'm looking forward to this year are Persona Q and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. I also cannot understate my excitement for Persona 5 next year.
