So I got this;

It's Please Tell Me Galko-chan!; I thought from the reviews and people talking about it would just be a funny slice-of-life kinda story/situation comedy like Nurse Hitomi or even I Heart Monster Girls.

But it turned to be like IHMG but...I felt like I was reading something meant for girls/women instead. Basically a set of skits and short stories about a group of girls and "questions" like what girls think of other girl's clothing choices, social activities, do they ask/care about things like boob sizes and such etc.

I have been greatly misled Escapists. And I also have a shitton more questions about women now, that would be super awkward to ever have to ask. All this comic has done is give me unanswerable questions.

I like that one. I bought volume 2 the other day, the second I saw it in the bookstore. I like comedy manga that's all about short episodic stories, and I like fan service. And it helps to get a manga in color for once.

It looks familiar but I don't recognize it. From your description I think I have a customer that may like it so I may have a look to see if I can get it in stock.

Also I suggest you ask a random girl in the street your questions. That way if things go badly you've not completely ruined a friendship and if things go well you may have got a girlfriend who likes your weirdness.

I am curious about what questions this has raised, and why google cannot help.

I'm pretty sure Bobular is looking to get me Tased and/or Pepper Sprayed.

This is the concept of "girly things for men" that Japan likes, basically you get a window to a world you are not normally privy too. Of course, it's a manga, so taking it as a direct reflection to reality is usually not the way to go.

Nothing weird about it. Hell, go read Ichigo Mashimaro, that's gonna be even weirder if this much manages to weird you out lol.

I say it's good to broaden ones horizons!

If your question is "Do all women-" and doesn't end in "-have their own individual opinions and thoughts?" then the answer is no.
The unanswerable, answered.

Oh yeah, love Azudai, though I prefer its anime by a good margin. Osaka ftw.

Well, he didn't use the word "all" there, right? It seems to still be unanswered to me. :p

If anything, I'd be careful about how you ask the questions. Phasmal already made it clear how your question should not sound, but to me it sounds like you're just wondering how common the stuff in the book actually is among the female population. It's intriguing, because it's mostly things you and probably most men never gave a single thought to, right? So, you want to know how common these thoughts and concerns are among the female population, or if they were just red-herrings put there or grossly exaggerated to stoke your fantasies?

Is that basically the gist of it?

I mean, when you don't literally say "do all women without any exception do X", I think it is fair to assume that most people can deduce that you're not using a collectivist definition, trying to brand an entire gender with this or that behavior, and are just expressing normal curiosity about the average tendencies of an unspecified but noticeably existent group of women.

You would have to endeavor quite a bit to fault-find offense in such a common statement. Like, if someone asks "do dogs like to dig holes?" and someone answered "my Peter would never, not all dogs are the same, how dare you!" wouldn't we look at them like a nutter? lol

Still, it's surprising how easily it can slip out. From what I gathered, as mentioned above, this is a question about stuff guys generally DON'T do, which is what makes it so interesting to us guys in the first place. However, without care one could accidentally phrase it as being about stuff women do, with the "All" or the "in general" unintentionally being implied. How offensive that would be depends on the subject being discussed. "Do all dogs dig holes" probably wouldn't bother most people unless context made it sound like an accusation.

Am I reading into this too much? I feel like I'm getting carried away. Anyway, with this being the internet, you can never be too careful when touching on subjects like these. I just thought it would help to get a solid understanding of what Paragon was looking for, so there aren't any misunderstandings.

This assumes a gender thinks a particular way, which is probably not the most helpful way to actually understand how people think

I have the exact opposite view of what one ought do due to this being the internet.

Instead of being overly-cautious, one ought be overly-tolerant and try the most to read everything while always giving the benefit of the doubt and trying to not find offense. The internet is really good at letting people be rude when they want to in no uncertain terms you see, if someone wants to be offensive they have no reason to be roundabout with it. That being so, if you aren't sure if you should mind something or not, because it's the internet, better not mind it until you absolutely feel like you must.

Better than him assuming every girl is trying to emulate the Kardashians. Instead of them being human. Though I can personally say I can read what every girl thinks of me. Like the one that just rang me up at the store thought I was Bigfoot. Maybe a muscular wookie.

If your standard for a good idea is 'it could be worse' then you really should rethink your standards.

Also was more your idea than his. I've not seen him say it the way you did.
