I've had my achilles tendons cut.

When I woke up, I couldn't get out of bed for 4 days. Not extremely the most horrible ever in the world, but wasn't great really.

Had a testicle removed.

I win this thread.
You should get a gold replacement testicle. Or a titanium replacement.

That would immediately make you master of all things awesome.

EDIT:

I forgot to OT.

OT: Haven't actually had a proper surgery yet, but I'll probably need one to get rid of these pesky wisdom teeth.

I also may need some form of surgery to take out a random gland in my body. Don't remember which, but the doctors said that it serves no purpose (at least to me) and I'd be better off without it.

That was a long time ago though, so I dunno what's going to happen with that.

Had my appendix out when I was a kid and have a small scar on my lower abdomen from it.

Then the scar tissue from that built up inside my body to the point that my gut caught on it and twisted itself up so when I was about 24 I had surgery for a twisted intestine and I now have a scar running from my belly button to my sternum from where they opened me up.

I had my bottom wisdom teeth out because they kept getting infected as they didn't quite come through right.

Thats it.

I've had 3 knee and 2 wrist surgeries.
Not bad for a 16 year old :)

My have Rheumatoid arthritis on my right wrist and my both patellas are luxating, so that's the reason for those surgeries

I'm boring. I've never had a surgery, and I get to keep my wisdom teeth for the rest of my life, provided I take care of them. They came in perfectly straight.

I've never broken a bone either. I do have some cool scars from an active childhood, though.

When I was about four or five years old, some bellend in the playground at school pushed me over and my forehead smashed into a concrete step. There was a lot of blood, and I remember it being pretty painful when I regained consciousness. Apparently my skull was visible when the stitches were being placed, which I guess is pretty cool. I wasn't sedated, so I suppose I must've been too young to have properly understood exactly what was going on; I'd shit bricks if something like that happened to me these days.

As far as I'm aware, that's the only surgery I've had.

um I am gonna get my eye teeth removed, my teeth are really big and since my eye teeth were the last ones I lost as a kid they are wedged up and it is really hard to brush so they are rotting out.

I had appendicitis when I was the ripe old age of 7.... had I waited any longer than I did, I would have died from the poison leaking all over my system (some did, but not enough to kill me).

My only other surgery was wisdom teeth. Uneventful.

I went in for a really trivial procedure - needed to have a steel bolt put in my foot because a fracture wasn't healing, supposed to be a little 4-inch incision, a little drilling, and then home for a few weeks of plaster cast and painkillers - and went into anaphylaxis on the operating table. Yeah... turns out that being allergic to the anesthetic is super-rare but not impossible.

I have to get an EEG where they're putting me under for it. I've never had anesthesia before. Can't be as bad as that stuff they put into me for the MRI; my mother new someone who had an allergic reaction to it and died. Lethal MRI of DOOM. :(

Yep, had me some sholder surgery yesterday. Been long overdue, but there we go.

With a sore shoulder and lots of pills at my disposal, I'm curious to hear about other people's surgery stories. Just gives me something to do, since i only can use one hand right now. There's not a whole lot of stuff i can do :)

I've had a tendon rebuild, removed some bone to create space in there, and removed some.. "odd" stuff which weren't supposted to be in there. All in all i've been told it went well, so for now i've just got a 3 months training it back up ahead of me.

Really, this thread is probably just me letting it out, because i need to vent a bit. It's first time for me where i've had "major" surgery.
I've had 9 surgeries.

What?

Anyway, in this order; A Sinus surgery, another Sinus Surgery, Surgery on my severly broken arm, surgery on my mouth to correct two teeth that were coming out of the top of my gums (forward, like a sharks teeth), Sinus Surgery again, Sinus Surgery again again, Wisdom Teeth (more on this later), Wisdeom teeth again for the other side, and Brain Surgery to remove a small benign tumor.

The reason I consider the normally minor procedure of getting wisdom teeth removed to be a surgery (or two, rather), is because of my extraordinarily bad reaction to anasthesia, and the fact that to perform the surgery, I had to be physcially restrained by the nurses. I do remember basically the entire thing, I actually tried attacking the doctor because anasthesia causes be to become blind with rage, and I almost put a hole in the wall of the recovery room and had to be restrained again so as to not further damage (fracture, in this case) the bones in my hand (I punched that stone wall hard).

As for the brain one, it's kinda self explanatory, and has been my most severe surgery to date. I'll also probably have to have at least 1 more sinus surgery, but so far, I've avoided it.

Eventually, to actually truly fix the sinus problem, I'm going to have to let the surgeons cut through the roof of my mouth to get to the sinus properly, but I have no interest in that right now.

When I was really, really young (before my brain could develop the ability to remember things), I had some surgery done in that lower torso area that's uncomfortably close to my genitals. I don't remember it at all (see above) and my parents didn't tell me what it was for (and I didn't really ask either).

I've had 2 operations. The first was when I was around 6, I had to have my head sown shut, becaise my idiot of a half-cousin split it open with a rock.

The second, was for an ingrown toe nail I had. I was awake for the operation, had 2 inch long needles stuck into my big toe.. and just general horibleness
