Then there was this time a science teacher got bored with the crappy quantities of chemicals that you're allowed to mix in class so he put in about 10 times as much which caused an explosion you could hear half way across the school. He got in a little bit of trouble for that.
I have a question.

Did he have a PHD, and if so, was his last name Insano?

OT: not much bad happens at my school, other than some guys who act like total jackasses to me, and as soon as I try to defend myself, start acting like I was the one who started it. Otherwise, they people at my school are just annoying retards who don't get the point of my Youtube videos.
I never got taught by him, I was on the receiving end of the explosion sound-wise. I had just asked my friends who were in the class at the time what happened. I doubt he had a PHD, otherwise why would he be teaching secondary education science?

Dude, it was a reference to The Spoony Experiment. Spoony's mad scientist alter ego is called Dr. Insano

My school (Ithaca High) was named something along the lines of "a rise in racial tensions," when some black kids "protested" against a "racist" bus driver who was just being a jerk to a student who was incidentally black, and second, an enabling *****. I hope she enjoys the half mil the courts gave her. We're enjoying budget cuts.

As most of you probably never heard about, my school KPHS has been the topic of national news.
If you are in America and watch ABC news regularly, you'll know that my school has an alleged "fight club" following behind the school. Everybody knew about it and a lot of people (myself included) enjoyed spectating.
There's no link, but you can find it on the ABC news database.
So, has this (or anything similar) happened to others on the Escapist?
Shhh! You know the first rule! We don't talk about Fght Club.

My high school was in the news for a day when there was a large immigrant worker protest in Denver, and the students at my school decided to wave a bunch of Confederate flags around.

If you can name this school, cookies all around.

My school doesn't have a fight club but it does have several fights. I try to avoid going to the junior school as much as I can because there is at least 5 fights a day the worst thing for me is that all the Science rooms are on the junior side and 3 of my 5 subjects are science.

Well, my school doesn't have much.
The occasional group of smoking Year 9's at the back of the school, a fight or two, most recent being a kid having his nose partially broken (he deserved it though, he picks fights with anything and anyone he can, and tried to sell individual cigarettes at $10 a pop), and about 4 years ago, we had some Year 11's OD on travel sickness pills (Yeah, I know, hardcore aren't they?) in the school and were subsequently expelled.

Oh, and we had a fight club for a few weeks, which would be a couple of outdoor wheelie soccer goals pushed together, with a couple of people getting in, and hell breaking loose.
No broken bones, just a few bruises and a fair damn bit of blood.

I was an RA in my college and we had a small fight club that would move around, but all the members were scrony weak kids so I was in no rush to shut it down. It only lasted about a month

The Quakers of Tasmania have distanced themselves from the school because of how bad it has gotten.
Wait, the Quakers themselves have have distanced themselves from there own school? It is really that bad?

The worst that has happened at my school was a kid hitting me, me getting in trouble because the kid was autistic, which I think was a lie, and I hit back, and then his parents moving because "I was a bully to him and he didn't want to go to school anymore". Then my GIANT Italian Father came in in his favorite blue suite (which made him look like what you think when you hear the word "Mob boss") and straitened the school out. That was a fun weak.

What makes your school bad? I live in this ass-end of nowhere town where my sophomore year it was speculated we had a "Fight Club" going on. It was like ten fights in two weeks or some crap like that. Didn't know, didn't care, lots of stupid people got into fights. One of my friends got attacked by one of these idiots and promptly beat his ass in self-defense so whatever club this was it was pretty much setting up fights and keeping track of targets who aren't in on it.

I don't think this makes your school bad. I just think enough of your dumb asses got together and formed a unified dumb ass to fuck with the way things work.

Turns out I was kind of oblivious to the goings on in my school.Half of this I've heard about since I left, which has led to people wondering how I didn't notice half of these things.

One of the english teachers had an affair with the head of maths. The head of math's wife also worked in the school,as a history teacher.Apparently she forgave him,but her husband and the english teacher still hung around a lot.
The same english teacher seemed to get around actually.Apparently she dated one of the Irish teachers,a man well into his fifties or sixties, and she's late twenties, early thirties. Then she broke up with him,and he came into the school drunk, shouting that he wanted her to take him back. Our vice principal and the head of maths-remember him?-had to lift him out to his car,and then the VP drove him home.Thing is,I told my mum this recently, and she told me that she doesn't think that's true,as the Irish teacher has a wife, and she doesn't see that he'd ever have done that.
We had a biology teacher who had an emotional breakdown after his wife left him.I think his son might have died/killed himself as well, but I'm not sure of that one.Word was,he regularly got high in school-I got taught by him,and honestly,I could see it-and a load of other stuff, like he would hit students across the back of the head.My brother had him when he was doing his A level biology, and apparantly, all he did was hand them the text book, and say 'I'm not teaching you this year.Read that instead.'
One of the other english teachers, and the one I've already mentioned went to formal-it's just another word for prom-with two students. Both of them were very slutty.Which was kind of weird, because one of them was a mother, and about forty.Still looked good on it though.
Oh,and there were a lot of guys who got caught pleasuring themselves in various places in the school.I swear, half of this I just never heard about, and I don't know how.
And of course, worst of all.We had a guy who organised a bake sale.Every few months. For charity! Can you imagine the horror!?

My school is great, and there aren't really any problems. There haven't been any teenage pregnancies or suicides in my years here, and we have typical Canadian levels of drug use. Fights are quite rare. There have been bomb threats and I've been threatened at knifepoint, but it's happened to me before so I didn't feel endangered.

As for crazy shit, though, some guy shot himself with an arrow in archery class. I was there - the guy just dropped in and claimed he knew how to use a bow, so we gave him one and let him take a shot. He held his finger in front of the arrow when he pulled back. He now has a pretty impressive scar. It was on the news, but I didn't see the report, and I'd like to.

Oh yeah, just remembered that there were some sexual assaults about 3 years ago. The guy responsible wasn't expelled because his parents give money to the school board. He's a fuckhead, but he no longer sexually assaults people.

At my school, we played Yu-Gi-Oh all of the time. Does that count?
My middle school was pretty clean, except the time a kid almost got expelled for saying the school sucked and that it didn't let him speak his mind.

Did the people who almost expelled him notice the irony in that?
