So I have just finished New Vegas on Hardcore.....

I have just finished the main storyline of New Vegas on Hardcore. Got me a shiny Gold Trophy.
But don't seem to have the "special reward" that was promised. I have started a new game and played for a while but still nothing.

Anybody know what it's all about?

Not even the Fallout Wiki has anything about a reward of any kind? I was kinda hoping for snazzy armour or a shiny weapon or something.

I was expecting something else seeing as articles like this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/104454-Fallout-New-Vegas-Hardcore-Mode-Earns-Players-Special-Reward] have been going about everywhere.

Yup from what I've heard, the "Reward" was just the achievement/Trophy...not really special, but there you go...


On the other hand, I have been thinking that maybe, people who finish it on Hardcore may receive something special, like a free piece of DLC or something. I know all the people who bought the DLC for Fallout 3 got a free theme? So, maybe they will do something like that?

To be honest Hardcore doesn't make the game massively harder, and to get the acheievement you could just play on Very Easy and rush through the game.

I think there should be an achievement for completing it on Very Hard/Hardcore. Now THAT would be something special

Online bragging rights aren't really satisfying because there is ALWAYS some basement dwelling cretin who claims to have done it in half your time and says "You Died in the battle with 3000 battlesuited robots when all you had was a damp paper towel for armour around your balls and a penknife? HA I owned all of them and didnt lose one hitpoint"

I would sit and type all of that in "nerd" but I'm worried about the impending "word abuse" tax that fines you £5000 for everytime you write a word using numbers such as "4w3s0m3"

I agree that it was a great addition to the game and I didn't just do it for the trophy because you actually had to "survive" instead of just running around collecting free ammo and caps

Yeah man. I knew people like that in high school, except they bragged about how much beer they could drink or what quantity of drugs they could do or how many chicks they had been with in one go. Stupidly, the claims were never realistic in the least.

"Oh, you tried two grams of mushrooms, well I once did nine grams." No you did not you liar, because if you did, you'd be dead. "Oh, you have had sex with one girl, well, I once had a six-way." No you didn't, you fat slob. Everyone finds you repulsive. Anyway...

I too will second the DLC comment. Maybe a sweet piece of non-degradable armour or some sort of solid energy weapon or whatever. It could be done.

lol yeah, Fallout 3 was quite easy for caps. But on New Vegas you can just go into a casino, play Blackjack for 10 minutes and walk away with 10K+ caps
