Finally after months of waiting I get my Skyrim copy from steam the moment it's released. To be honest I wasnt that excited since I pretty much burned out from all the threads and videos.

It loads and I straight away put it into windowed mode like for all my games but it doesnt have much options for the size. Either its tiny or bigger than the screen itself. I can handle this if it was the only problem but when it scanned my system and recommended high settings I instantly noticed a significant fame rate drop when I played the game. Even on medium it wont run very smoothly, despite turning off all background programs. Now I also got MW3 and that runs incredibly smoothly: High graphics and absolutely zero frame rate drop.

My pc isnt top of the line but it's by no means bad. I was meaning to upgrade graphic cards after the failure that was BF3 (maybe its just me but this was horrible looking on my pc, medium textures, everything else turned off). Anyone else getting this because I seem to be the only one.

I don't suppose you could post you're specs so we know what we're dealing with?

I'll play the obligatory: "Are your graphics drivers up to date?" guy for this thread.

Telling us the prize of your PC tells us basically nothing. We need specific specs. If you don't know the off-hand or don't know how to see them:

Start -> Run -> type dxdiag

My diagnosis... Needs new graphics card. Or a second one.

Either way, please post specs, my good man.

Try running at the lowest settings and see what happens.

The minimum requirement is a GTX 260 so cross you're fingers that it runs smoothly on lowest settings.

Funnily enough my old Radeon 4550 runs it fine. It also said it should be on high, and while it freezes for a split second every ten minutes it's otherwise smooth. On medium it's perfect. I think it's just optimization on Bethesda's part.

Your graphics card, Geforce 340, is too out of date. It meets the min requirements but is far off from the recommended requirements. The rest of your system sounds good, but your video card is holding it back. It should be an easy upgrade.

My advice is thus:

Get another 4GB of RAM or buy a whole new 8GB set and replace the current 4GB entirely.
A new graphics card is in order, perhaps a GTX560 or HD6950?

Nailed it. Your GPU is bottlenecking your system. Modern Warfare 3 is about as technically demanding as a wet sock.
