Crustaceans are my outright paralyzing fear, which makes some video games...awkward. You can't really hit it for massive damage while going into hysteria.

And the giant spiders in Everquest...not pleasant. Not when they uncurl from behind a hill.
And for you I have: The Coconut Crab. It's called that because it eats coconuts.

Strange thing is I'm terrified of large spiders and cockroaches but that thing doesn't creep me out, crustaceans in general don't creep me out even though they are essentially gigantic ocean spiders with claws and armor. I can't figure out why it is that I'm terrified of something that's no bigger than my hand but a crab that's about the same size as a small dog doesn't frighten me at all. :l

The only thing that I really really dislike is snakes. Sure I kill spiders and scorpions and stuff, but I cringe before I kill snakes. No joke I shot every snake that I found on my land in Colorado. In three years I killed something like 10 rattlesnakes, 2 bull snakes, and 1 garden snake. I tell my friend that if any of his snakes get out while I'm at his house I WILL kill it, and I'm not joking. I think this came about because I used to live in a state that had rattlesnakes and water moccasins everywhere when I was growing up. I was terrified of walking through my yard, getting bit, and dying. God I fucking hate snakes....

I'm a little scared of spiders myself, but I've had a number crawl on me in the past few months (damn you, summer). They were little black house spiders though, thank goodness. They didn't live long after being discovered.

You want scary real spiders?

From the cracked article: "when it's in the mood, brings down entire birds and eats them. It doesn't make webs, or leap great distances--it just slowly sneaks up behind things and jumps on them. Yes, just like in your nightmares. Go ahead and check behind you. We'll wait.
Its spit can dissolve flesh down to the bone AND it can shoot invisible hairs that cut your eyes and mouth. While the "intelligent designer" theory has lost steam of late, the "sadistic bastard creator" theory is single-handedly supported by the existence of this creature."

The legs would have spanned up to 15cm, front to back (scale-bar: 5mm)

Seem they don't make them like they used to:
BBC News said:
Scientists have described a Chinese spider they say is the biggest fossilised arachnid yet found.

The female, which lived about 165 million years ago, belongs to a collection of spiders well known today - the golden orb weavers.

These creatures make webs from a very tough and distinctively golden silk.

The researchers tell the journal Biology Letters that Nephila jurassica, as they have called their specimen, would have had a leg span of some 15cm.

"She is the largest known fossil spider," said Professor Paul Selden from the University of Kansas, US.

"Her body is not the biggest, but if you add in her long legs then she's the largest," he told BBC News.

I thought it was called the Coconut Crab beacuse it uses coconuts to drift from island to island because they can't go into the water otherwise they drown.

Okay, why the hell does that exist?
Er, you quoted the wrong person. And it exists because that's what happens on isolated islands.

Yay?

Well I'm sure it can't be that bad.
This is a spider that will chase you down if it even thinks your looking at it wrong, and the last thing you will hear is the spider say "I swallowed your God."

I can think of few species, whether animal or insect, I'm afraid of. There are plenty of course that I'd take appropriate caution with, but regardless.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2a/Candiru.png

Here's one of the few species that just creep me out by existing. The candriru, also known as the Brazilian vampire fish. These suckers love to nest inside the gills of larger fish, feeding off of their host. They follow outputs of Nitrogen in order to find a gill chamber, but cannot distinguish between sources. As a result, they end up lodged inside of the urethra tract of human genitals. Surgery is often required to remove the bastards.

That exists because crab meat is freaking delicious, don't knock the system when it brings 25 pounds worth to your door.

OT: Don't really have a problem with insects or arachnids probably because I live in Sweden and I'm pretty sure that there arn't any poisonous ones here. If there where I would probably be more scared.
Oh really now..? Maybe you should think again, since THE MOST POISONOUS SPIDER IN THE WORLD!!! the black widow has moved here. Just saying. But don't worry, they won't run after you... They'll just hide in your shoes waiting for you to put them on. ^^

OT: I don't have a particular fear of any animal except for humans what so ever, though some I dislike more than others. If I find spiders or the like crawling around where they shouldn't (that is, in MY room) I just pick them up on a paper and let them out through the window. Or put them in my sister's room. Yes, I'm that evil. ^^

One more for your viewing pleasure.

I have never encountered any jellyfish before, never lived near a beach in my life. But man, knowing what some of them can do, I think I would fear a sting from them more than anything else.
