Cave Story. Do eet. Do eet nao!

Seriously, even the one-man PC freeware production of that game was a masterpiece, and I heard that the plaid for versions just add more to the game.
Cave story sounds interesting, what's it's deal? Surely not Terraria/Minecraft again?

A while ago I was asking if I was too old (23) to buy a 3DS. An alarming number of you said "no, and stop being so fucking stupid". Which was fine, and I've now got it on good authority that the best games right now are on DS/3DS.

When it's Jim Sterling dishing out the product advice, I'm going to jump right on that wagon.

So I've ordered one!

I'm thinking Super Mario 3D land (because that comes with the thing)

As well as Rayman origins and Zelda OoT.

Any other suggestions? Seriously, go mad. Anything will be considered.

No offense to Jim, but he is the Gaming version of Rush Limbaugh, or that guy from Ancient Aliens. Everything they say sounds legit inside of their own twisted little conspiracy theory, but in the "less enlightened" outside world, it turns into a pile of shit (Alien Bull Shit).
That being said, from what I can tell Nintendo is just releasing GBA/DS games but with 3d. If you liked the old version of it, the new version is probably good to. EXCEPT POKEMON, sure it the same thing over and over, but if I am going to play the same thing again I'm waiting for the re-release of Emerald. Generation 4&5 can suck it for all I care.

oh yeah, i'd been thinking of getting one waay before that, I was waiting till after E3 to actually make my mind up. E3 and Jim's recommendation (made to me personally on twitter, squee!) kinda tipped the scales.

I'm interested to see where Gamefreak go with their AR apps for Pokemon and how they incorporate them into the actual game

The point you're missing is that I did answer your request for a recommendation on a 3DS games. However I also mentioned a fault that you have and you can't let it go that I pointed that out. Really, don't admit fault here. It's not like you asked me to check the date of the posts or something.

Really, I'm sorry I pointed out that you're wrong. I sincerely wish I had not done so. Can we move on now and just say you're right?

I thought you'd never ask. Of course we can.

OT: Anyone got advice on battery life-extenders? I head that the stock battery is somewhat.....crap.

Cave Story is a game about the player character waking up in a cave, and going on an adventure of incredible importance. To say much more would spoil the plot. The game is a 2D side-scrolling action-platformer with JRPG elements. The freeware version (the original, and the only one I've played, since I lack a Wii or 3DS) is basic;just the normal game. From what I've heard and gathered from cursory glances, the 3DS version includes multiple time attack modes, multiple difficulty levels, and a version of the campaign where you play as Curly Brace instead of the normal protagonist. Updated graphics and sounds are a given, but they seem to maintain the retro feel of the game. The freeware version is a masterpiece, and from what I've heard, the paid for versions have great improvements. Also, the game has three distinct endings. Good luck getting the best one without a guide. You'll need it.

Not sure about things you can get in Australia, but I have heard great things about this thing:
http://www.amazon.com/PowerPlay-Battery-Extender-Cosmo-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B004X0AP2G

I haven't tested it myself, so I can't say for sure. It's bulky, but it can extend the life of your 3DS to more than twice what you'll get without it.

Personally I have a thing for this thing:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/usb-gadgets/ceca/?srp=3#tabs
It's more practical to carry around, but it doesn't have as much power. I just use an universal charger and a 3DS adapter with USB like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/HDE-USB-Charge-Cable-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B004TTPM42/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1340003417&sr=8-7&keywords=3ds+adapter

Yeah, I agree. It's also incredibly convenient to bring on trips.
