There's a pillar to the far front-left from where you enter that you can hug a side of no matter where the Warrior spawns (he only has three positions) and be fine. That's what I normally do; never had to glitch him, though I knew that existed. Look for Admiral Bahroo on YouTube if you want to see all the legit and not-so-legit strategies for all the bosses. Good content and a quality bloke as well.

In multiplayer you can go the route of getting a siren on your team, which can help out A LOT if you're downed, since she has the ability to pick you up with phaselock, but then you're giving up a lot of DPS, since the siren does piss poor damage on the higher levels.
Kinda. She's probably got the lowest DPS potential of all the characters, but she's also the most natural Bee user. Endgame Siren is all about The Bee. Most characters have to use The Bee at some point in OP levels, but Maya can use it comfortably in pretty much all content; only Axton and maybe Gaige can do the same. Ward gives her a potential -80% Shield Recharge Delay (with the Legendary Siren com), and The Bee already has a great Recharge Rate, so for her it's a normal fast shield, just with the added bonus of causing all this extra damage. For other characters The Bee creates this huge deficit in defense in order to create that extra damage.

I've got both an Assassin and a Siren at OP8, and I think the Siren is way easier to play. Basically Zer0 has a lot more damage potential, but he has so little survivability that he can't reliably use The Bee for regular mobbing. Somehow Maya, with a Bee, has more damage *and* survivability than a Zer0 without a Bee. I still enjoy Zer0 a lot, and he's a lot better at soloing the raid bosses (lol, B0re), but for regular mobbing and levelling, Maya is way ahead.

Playing through the dragon keep DLC now (the only decent one I hear) and I highly recommend it, its great :)
Other than Hammerlock's, I think they're all worth it. Torgue's is my favourite. Scarlet's is probably the biggest and hence the best value for money. So that's three of four which are great.

The fact that there's so few viable ways to play Siren at high level really shows you how underpowered she really is. When playing any of the characters you shouldn't be shoehorned into using specific skills or specific weapons just to be able to beat the game, not when there's so much different class customization and such a massive selection of weapons.

Then again, a lot of the characters get pretty screwed in the late game. Zero becomes almost useless because eventually he can't get one shot headshots anymore, regardless of what sniper rifles and skills he's using (at level 50 my Zero had to shoot basic enemies between 3 and 6 times in the head to kill them, and that was with all my skills in sniping and critical hit damage), and Axton's turret gets pretty useless later on as well because of how quickly it gets destroyed (I've found the best way to use it is to think of it as an extra powerful grenade).

Again, kinda. The thing with Maya is that she's very much tied to The Bee for dealing damage. But as I've said, she's the most natural Bee user with her big delay reduction. That actually increases her weapon options to a certain extent; if you're using a Bee, and you're comfortable using one, then any weapon with a good fire rate and splash (e.g. a generic Plasma Caster) becomes a very competent weapon for general mobbing use. With Zer0 I wouldn't dream of using a Bee for regular mobbing, but because of that (and because of the massive health gain and health regen in OP levels) I have to limit myself to only the most hard hitting of weapons. I'm pretty much screwed without a Ravager and a DPUH. But then I get so many more options for shields with Zer0 (loving the Antagonist), and it's very fresh to play a character that doesn't need The Bee to do real damage (tell you what, Maya is totally screwed in FFYL).

Very true with sniping. There's basically only two snipers that are worth using at OP8, and neither of them are traditional snipers; you've got the Lyuda which is basically a super accurate Assault Rifle, and the Pimpernel which is more like a Rocket Launcher than anything else (tip: aim for the balls). People have been going on about the Cobra for ages (loved that gun in BL1 btw), but I happened to grind out a pretty much perfect one when it was dropping for the loot hunt, and I gotta say, it's rubbish. It's awful, it's absolutely bad. Damage per shot is nice, but fire rate is dreadful; if it could one-shot stuff it'd be worth something, but even a sniper like that can't always one shot at OP8.
