I was actually a bit confused by the ending of NHK for a bit, it was rather late when I watched it and it was all very random for me. I can't quite remember it but I don't think I found it that sad although it made me look inwards a little bit which is something nothing has managed to do before.

Clannad made me cry though. Jesus christ. That's never getting out of my head.

I don't really know for recommendations. I'd say Code Geass (duh) if you haven't seen it. Highschool of the Dead is an ongoing anime and it is turing out to be really good (just if you look over the mount everbreasts that is, although they just make me laugh)
Thats nothing compared to the boobs in Ladies Vs. Butlers, HOLY CRAP thats borderline hentai.
Then there is KissXSis. Soft core porn at it's finest.

Yeah Welcome to the NHK is in my top ten list...
also recommendations...
I've been watching anime along time and I like to think I have fairly broad tastes... so here is my top 10...
1. Serial Experiments Lain, It's The Second coming of Jesus, I even did a review!!! [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.214642-Sacmans-Sac-tastic-Anime-Review-Serial-Experiments-Lain]

2. Ergo Proxy, A lot of people say Ergo Proxy is an anime you have to think about but on reflection it feels more like a parody or satire of over pretentious anime like Eva. The last episode is even titled "Deus Ex Machina."

3. Elfen Lied, What this show does is hard to explain. It's gory and bloody and filled with tasteless nudity but I loved it. Elfen Lied just got me so attachedto the characters that come the end I cried...

4. Welcome To The NHK. It's hard to explain... I mean it's really the only slice of life I've ever loved this much but I'm just not exactly sure why. It could be the pitch black humor, the realistic characters, the social satire, or even the brilliant writing. Honestly, however, I think it's more the fact that Sato's, The main character's, situation hit's very close to home for me...

5. FLCL. I hate to sound like everyone else but FLCL is 6 episodes of awesome craziness!!!

6. Blue Sub No. 6. I used to watch this as a kid on Toonami and I really didn't get it but going back to watch all 4 episodes now I can safely say it's one of the most polished OVA series I've ever see, with an amazing soundtrack, great action, great animation, a standout art style, and one of the most coherent messages about human nature I've seen in anime.

7.Gundam The 08TH MS Team. It really stands out for me because it's one of the few Gundam series that give a general sense of fear because the action is unpredictable and the characters really endear themselves to the audiance...

8. Paranoia Agent. It's a truly great murder mystery that keeps you guessing at every turn but look past that and you'll find a very intriguing deconstruction of the human mind...

9.Gungrave. Possibly one of the most underrated shows I've seen. Gungrave is a truly great story about friendship, love and betrayal without ever falling into cheesiness the great animation, spectacular fight scenes and well thought out character development doesn't hurt either.

10.Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. Despite having no real plot, since I consider Kai and Rei to be non canon, Higurashi is one of the most atmospheric and frightening shows I've ever seen. It constantly keeps you guessing and always gives a feeling of paranoia and dread...[/quote]

Strike witches and K-on are definietly two animes that you need to watch, season 2 of both are still in the making :p

Chocotto sister isn't action and it isn't drama, it's just a guy who wants a little sister, so a female santa claus on a flybike gives it to him lol. Seriously though, thats the only part thats weird, the rest of the anime is FANTASTIC! It's a liiiiittle ecchi, but that's a good thing, right? xP
A little ecchi is good, alot of ecchi is GREAT!XD

But yeah, i've been meaning to watch K-on for a while, I just never got around to it. I mean, I still have like, 20 other anime on the go. Hmm, maybe I'll just finish Kemonozume.....

Also, seriously, we watch anime. Everything in it is "weird" to your average person.
I suggest getting the strike witches dvd, depending on what country you live in you'll probably get arrested because the uncensored version shows Francesca Lucchini completely naked (she's 12), but if there's no risk of getting arrested, uncensored is the way to go :p

And yes, ecchi is awesome.

stopped watching that because I didn't like it. It was just to blahh for me. I couldn't relate to any characters, and as atmospheric as it was, that's just not enough for me.
Gundam The 08TH MS Team
I'll be sure to check it out, though, Gundam Unicorn is supposed to be coming out soon so, yeah.

Everything else I saw.
I especially liked Ergo Proxy. Just the whole style of it. It kinda reminded me of Speed Grapher/Ghost in the Shell, you know?

I read the concept and looked into it. And, 5-6 episodes in, I like it... but it's pretty screwed up. The Roppongi club and its members, at least.

Sorry to disappoint but I'm one who like a good story, boobs for me just happen to be in the animes I like. (My first message I think I edited in 3 other animes I like, no boobs I think(sod that, there is air gear)) I prefer a gripping story over a gripping cleavage.

I only play TF2 but that's not very often as I can only play that on my dad's computer and I only see him on weekends. That and it's my brothers account and he won't even let me touch it. (Stingy 14 year old b*****d)

I like the concept of it a lot. It was different, intriuging, and most importantly; relevant. So few anime series try to tackle real world issues in a real world settings, and so few of the ones that do are worth the watch. I liked the way it kicked off, Welcome to the NHK, and at times it was loaded with extreme poignancy. It seemed, while I was watching it, that there were glaring logistical errors in the plots from time-to-time and some two-dimensional characterization in some cases.

But yeah, I cried like a baby at the end.

yeah the only real problem I couldn't over look was the fact that it just goes on for too long, it has what is unmistakeably a climax only for it to keep going for like 8 more episodes...

yeah that's how I first found the show... I was watching the Girls on Film music video and it just showed up in my recommendations one day...
