Um...call a real doctor? Real medical attention, not some questionably reliable crowd-sourced bullshit? What are you? American? I thought Obama gave you healthcare.

Seriously, call a doctor.

I'm British, and hence too polite to consider wasting a doctor's time when there's cancer to be cured or...children to feel up...*

*I should probably explain that one of my local doctors was convicted for that...

OR just quit whining, wasp stings arent so bad.
Say that to the next poor bastard who is killed by one of the pointy but pointless little fuckers. Some people don't have any reaction to them but in many cases they can have a fatal reaction.

When I was first stung (hand), nothing happened. The next time (knuckle), my arm swelled up to worrying levels and went red. It took over a week before I got the full use of my hand back because it was so bloated. The last time (hand), I lost all feeling in (and use of) my arm until I was taken to A+E for a hefty dose of steroids, anti-histamines and anti-biotics.

I've been warned that the reactions will vary in severity and that anaphalactic shock is the worst case scenario but it is possible.

Sure the sting might not really hurt but the consequences can be very bad indeed!

With regard to the OP, here's hoping that all you need to do is pop an anti-histamine and all will be well!

Did he moonlight as a Catholic priest? OH-SNAP! Yeah, tha-that was a trip.

Well in Canada we have a hotline staffed by nurses where you can ask health questions. Like, "I just got stung by a wasp, will it kill me?"

You Brits have anything like that? If not, I suggest you get it. Might help.

I've been stung on the lip and the cheek, it does kill for a while but all you can do is ice it and watch a good movie or play some games to take your mind off it. You could also go to the pharmacy and see what creams they have that might help and try taking normal painkillers too. Hope you feel better soon.

I think Wasp venom is an alkaline, so put some acid like citric (lemon juice) or acetic (vinegar) on it to neutralise the alkali.

However, if it was a Bee that stung you then the opposite would be true. Bee venom is acidic so you would apply an alkali to neutralise the acid.
I was just about to say this. Alternatively, you could find a bee and 'shoot up' over the site of the old wasp-sting.

In many cases? Wrong. It's about 0.5% of the population. Many people my ass.

I fully realise that their are some people who are allergic to wasp stings. However, most people don't. OP clearly doesn't or he wouldn't have been typing that up instead of getting treated. So, as someone who isn't allergic, it really isn't a big deal.

The reason for that being that bumble bees don't sting :p They're just big and fluffy.
Err, yes, they do sting. I've been stung by a bumble bee when I picked it up as a kid (I thought it was dead), and it wrapped itself around my finger and it stung me badly.

They are like wasps too in the sense that they can sting without dying.

I have heard mud works remarkably well, better than perhaps even common clinical medicine. Yes, I am speaking of the mixture of dirt and water. I urge you to test this.

I never really had any problems with insects. They seem to leave me alone. Heck, i'm even immune to swelling and irritation from mosquito bites, and they leave me alone for the most part.

I've always been in the belief that wasps die after they have stinged you? You know... I was told that when they sting, the sting is getting torn out of their body along with some of their insides which eventually kills them.
I think thats bee's. Wasps are cruel, hateful buggars that can sting over and over.

Workers and Queens can, but generally don't. Drones can't and therefore generally don't. [http://www.bumblebee.org/faq.htm#Sting] Neither do moths or hoverflies, and none of them bite you ... but try telling that to someone who thinks they do while there's one in the room.

That's still over 55,000 times as scary as 9/11. It's over 3,000 times as scary as the roads over there ... on average, which is about 1500 times as scary as the roads in Wyoming.

I haven't been stung yet, but i heard you can put baking soda on stings. I am not sure if its for bee stings or wasp stings or if its all the same.

From what I know of wasp sting, and allergic reactions thereof, they usually aren't deadly, unless the swelling is in such an area that the throat swells up. Therefore, although 0.5% of the population could be affected, the death rate is very low. Unlike, say, 9/11, in which more people died than didn't.

Personally, saying that wasps are 55,000 times scarier than 9/11 is a little offensive.

Take it this way. around 100 people a year die of insect stings a year. compare that to 3,000 people. Yes, eventually, after 30 years, the deaths will be the same, but it doesn't mean wasp sting are scarier. Your use of statistics in that respect is just silly.

I got stung on the lip once. Don't ask me how it happened, it was back when I was really young. Needless to say, it hurt like hell.
