Let me start by saying, I actually really enjoyed the movie. As somebody who doesn't read comics, I wasn't bothered by any of the 'THIS DUDE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE HE DOES IN THE COMICS STUFF'.

There was quite a bit of foreshadowing in the film, hinting towards
Gwen's death. All this talk of mortality, their love, her leaving, etc. Even if you don't already know what happens in the comic, you can pick up the hints if you pay attention.

I thought Electro was cool, and I really loved the score that kicked in whenever he was around. It was almost like you could hear his thoughts, I thought Hans Zimmer and Pharrel did a great job.

I think the thing with Harry was a bit rushed, it seemed to only set up for the next movie which I'm not too bothered by but the fight with the Goblin was over in like 2 minutes. Also we still don't find out who the guy in that hat is...

I caught a few references that I liked, like seeing VENOM on the Oscorp projects list, and Alistair Smythe as the guy who picks on Dillon.

So yeah I enjoyed it a lot, bit pissed that there wasn't a post credits scene, but hey you can't get everything. Looking forward to Sinister Six!

Seems the spoiler was given away in the ads honestly. I'm not even saying it's because I was into the comics, my family members who saw the ads and have never even held a comic book called it.

As for the post credit scene, remember this isn't a Marvel in-house movie, so there wasn't a precedent for it.

I'm now less skeptical of the movie because of your comments on it, and now have hope that it won't be a mess like the first was.

It's not that big of a mess, it's actually really enjoyable. Rhino is barely in the movie, and Electro and Goblin are in like... 2 scenes together so it's not really cluttered as some people have said. Just the fight with Goblin came out of nowhere and was over before you can blink.

There's a post-credits scene for the first Spider-Man movie though.

I don't count a trailer as a post credits scene. In no way related to the movie.

It's still a scene, and it's still after the credits...

I despite the, IMO, unreasonable hate of MovieBob to Amazing Spider-Man 1 because I really enjoyed it (as an Ultimate Spider-Man version of the story) and went to Amazing Spider-Man 2 hoping the best but, sadly, it sucks :( the only parts I liked was the clasic Spidey jokes and the chemestry between Peter and Gwen plays really well but, darn, Rhino is on screen like 5 minutes or less, the actual Green Goblin is also like 5-10 minutes
and just shows to kill Gwen and get his ass kicked

The movie just feels long, tiresome and lacking a real conecction oppose to a "things just happen" feel... maybe if it went back to the editing room someone more talented could make a good movie with the elements they already have... and I swear if I didn't know anything about comics the "extra part" on the credits just adds a big WTF, why throw an X-Men part in a movie that has nothing to do with it?

I thought it was alright. It could've been better, it could've been worse. So far, my favorite out of the franchise has been Raimi's Spider-man 2.

To put it shortly, I didn't care about the conspiracy theory, but I did like the fact that Spider-man saves people and does it several times whereas Man of Steel (yes, I'm going there again) didn't do any of that.

As for the ending

I thought the scene of Gwen dying was handled fine. (although when the web reaching for her LOOKED JUST LIKE A HAND I found a little cheesy). I just hate the way her death is glimpsed over. I know the movie says it was 5 months, but it's over in like 2 seconds. More screentime is given so that Peter could do the Oscorp conspiracy nonsense. It's a good thing that he listened to Gwen's recorded pep talk all the while when the Rhino broke out of jail. Otherwise, it'd be an awkward situation coming back.

I just saw it today too. All in all I really liked it! Only one thing disappointed me; I was really hoping for Electro, Rhino and Goblin to team up against him at the same time to fight him. I wouldn't expect him to win that fight alone (since it'd make all 3 of them look shit) - something could intervene but I was just hoping for a grand 3 against 1.

It's the same feeling I had after Spiderman 3 (the last iteration of it). It had Venom, Sandman and Goblin but SM was almost always fighting them 1 at a time - it just seems to me the wrong way to have multiple villains. They weren't really working together, just racing against each other to wreck shit first.

I liked everything else about this one though. I'd never read the comics and somehow missed all the speculation so...

...I never knew Gwen was meant to die :( It broke my heart to see that! I loved her character and I liked her a hell of a lot more than MJ! Peter & Gwens chemistry just worked so well!

I feel like I'm late to the party :/ Like "JUST now finding out that Aerith dies in FF7" late.

Since the only real new thing are the villains (i.e. Peter's life remains more or less the same after high school, and is still troubled by the same two sources of conflict, his dad and Gwen's), I was more than disappointed by all three of them. SPOILERS.

This guy has the silliest origin story. His sudden obsession with Spider-Man felt silly, his accident felt silly, his 180 degree turn felt silly. I thought they were really trying to make the feud into something personal and all the while there was nothing behind the fighting. He also sits out most of the movie, appearing in the middle and showing up a 2nd time for the big climax. Not the big foe he was built up to be.

We're supposed to care for this guy that wasn't around in the first movie and has one "bonding scene" with Peter that tells us they're like the bestest friends ever, so that their conflict seems personal. What really bothered me was that Harry "cured" himself well before his fight with Peter. OK so it left some side-effects, but the important thing is that he isn't dying anymore. So why go after Peter and Gwen? What's he gaining? You know we can't just chalk up a "blind revenge" motive whenever there's no gain to an action.

What a tease. This guy has 4 minutes of screentime: the end of a car chase at the very beginning, and the beginning of a cool fight scene at the very end. Not even a full fight.

I'm counting 3. Two with Electro, one with Green Goblin. Rhino has technically two halves that don't really add up. After Captain America 2, which was blatantly action-packed, I feel shortchanged here. The fights don't go on for very long and you never really feel a sense of urgency in any of them (save for the Green Goblin one, even if it's obvious Gwen's dying the minute Peter promises to go with England with her).

I thought it was ok, better than the previous two, nowhere near as good as Sam Raimi's Spidey 1 and 2 though. Though the action scenes with Electro and Rhino are frickin sweet and my favorite fight scenes.

Gwen's Stacy's death wasn't especially shocking, since the comics kind of used that twist and also the fact that the entire dialogue was about the fact that Spidey doesn't want her to die. So that kind of dragged the film down because it made the dialogue seem not natural.

A lot of people appear to not care less about the Oscorp conspiracy, me included. I just wanted to see Peter dealing with supervillains and personal problems. I think that if we combined the cast, characters and fight scenes of this film with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, I think that'd be the formula for the best Spider-Man film. But that's just me.
