haven't seen one since the number 4 and didn't read any of the books, so probably won't see this one as I will have no clue as too whats going on.

Regardless its a story about magic and wizards its bound to be illogical.

i found it boring too. pretty much nothing happens.
Its very strange seing a film that is only part of the story. You leave feeling as if they had achomplished nothing, there was no big ending pretty much the same thing happened for 2 hours.

It seems to me like one of those movies that you would love if you loved the book. I loved the hell out of it, but then I loved the hell out of the series. Mostly because it never really pulled punches.

Most of the "illogical bits" were explained with magic. Can't do the apparition thing in certain locations, or to certain locations. If you do it wrong you end up hurting yourself. Muggle tech is ineffective when dealing with wizards because of protective charms and spells that they can place so easily (like every time they showed up somewhere they put those protective charms up).

What I really want to know is this... why are you asking why they only knock people out? Are you talking about the ONE part where the group of snatchers knocked Harry, Hermione, and Ron out and dragged them to the Malfoy's? You do realize they didn't know who Harry was at first and weren't even working for Voldemort, right? Other than that there was a ton of death... so...

And whenever Voldemort knows where they are or what they'll be doing... it's like... all of his inner circle and he himself shows up personally at every chance he can get. Considering he's currently overthrowing the entire society and installing his own empire, and considering how messed up the Order is throughout the show, I'd say he's doing a pretty good job of running things.

I disagree with the designer clothes though. They really should be wearing robes.

I actually really liked it. It was a pleasant surprise after Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince that were just setting this movie up and sucked balls in the meantime.

I've always found the fact that they don't use conventional weapons as well rather dumb, yes. But as for this particular movie, it's the only one I've actually enjoyed.
Conventional muggle inventions like electricity does not work around magic I believe. I vaguely remember Hermonie saying something about it once. This would mean guns would not work either.
I really don't see how shooting Harry would not work. His reaction time can't possibly be fast enough to deflect a bullet.
because it wouldnt be good plot wise.

I'm pretty sure we had this thread before. and it was quite popular if i remember.

Just think of it this way. having magic essentially puts protective bubble around you that makes you invincible to modern technology. and if that doesnt solv eit, remmber, its a book. In theory, yes, bullets could kill harry potter or any other magician. But, in theory, voldamort didnt hav eto use a spell on harry. he could hav ejust stabbed him in his bed with a knife.

No, what I am saying is that Magic affects muggle inventions (such as a gun) and causes them to malfunction. This is stated somewhere about muggle inventions not working around Hogwarts due to magical interference or something.

Although if for some reason you got around this, I suppose you COULD shoot him but that is stupid from a literally point of view.
Righto, thanks for clarifying. I thought what was meant was that they had spells to prevent these sorts of things, but it's just automatic.
