So I just watched an anime about a racist Mermaid.

To be fair, while whales get a bit of her wrath too, she's mostly violent towards dolphins, a species that plays catch with its dead young and enjoys rape FAR more than any sea-creature should. Still, given her own personal reason for her hatred, I guess the previous point is moot.

And here I thought the subject was going to be Squid Girl, about a mermaid so pissed off about humanity polluting the ocean that she decides to invade singlehandedly (and ineffectually). That show sounds hilarious, though.

Hmm I wonder who these anime are actually targeted at, because as a male I just can't relate with a clueless toolbag who couldn't take a hint despite the hint dancing naked in front of him all day! They tend to be full of "oooh potential love interest, oooh flirtatious moment" bits but just take forever to get to the bloody point, in which case I might as well start watching Bible Blac--err I mean Ikkitousen!

Not Bible Black obviously, who watches Bible Black.

I would judge someone far more harshly for watching Ikkitousen than Bible Black.

The episodes are about 10 minute long so it shouldn't take up too much time.

I would seriously suggest against the use of the spelling "Animu", Anime is written アニメ which is read a.ni.me, there is no fuking way メ is read "mu" and I have only seen Animu used by wapanese, the urban dictionary and anime haters.

As for the roots of Harem... no idea, I have always disliked the genre, don't think i have read a single one from beginning to end. But it can't be that recent, i remember harem mangas back in the late 80's early 90's like Anata to Scandal or Oh My Goddess, both being quite big in their time.

The title is hilarious enough for me. Sounds like a random statement I'd spring on my friends when it's gone all quiet.

I feel like I might check it out, the animation seems cute enough.

really hope that manga gets an anime adaption and for the author to stop adding more girls into the mix without really focusing on what he has
