My brain was in pain watching that movie.

Hell, the robot fighting scenes sucked. The U.S. military was in there more than the bloody protagonist and the robots (Michael Bay's gun hard on, no less), the main antagonist got shafted into the "Darth Maul scenario" (You know what I mean), and half the Autobot cast was either "gangsta hipsters" with robotic balls (The "Twins"), or just outright annoying.

.. I will end that rant here. Guh.
What do you mean by Darth Maul scenario? No sarcasm, I'm serious.

I rather disliked it. I saw it with my brother, since he said it was decent. Then again, he had to leave halfway through the first time, so he went with me to see it the whole way through.
Biggest waste of $15 I think I've ever spent.

I love all these people saying that Transformers 2 is THE WORST MOVIE EVER! Trust me, what you think is rock bottom is just a thin layer, beneath that is a vast, yawning abyss of awful, awful films.

Say whatever you want about the first movie, I thought that it kicked ass, but JESUS the second one was a waist of $7.50.

*shivers* I didn't think they could make one worse than the first, but..but I was wrong! Jesus, that was probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen. There is nothing more irritating to me than robotic beings with emotions. The storyline was terrible as well! To me, Michael Bay put in all those dumb robotic emotions and jokes for the kids, and explosions and Meghan Fox for the guys. Well guess what, it doesn't work like that! The ONLY thing that the Transformers series has going for it is superior computer animation.

The main antagonist of the storyline gets 5 minutes or less of meaningful screentime? The Fallen was only in the last 10 minutes (including credits) to be a punching bag for Optimus. Heck, I wanted the Fallen to win, just to kill off all the annoying-as-hell characters lined up beforehand..

/sigh

I never saw it because I was already exposed to the first, and suffered from mild shock and a prolonged series of trying to erase that memory by the use of wall.

Tranformers 2 is the WORST MOVIE EVER MADE.
Oh come on, stuff like Pearl Harbor has to be worse than this. Besides, you watch a movie like that for the eye candy not the character development and it had enough of that.

It would be nice if they would pander to a more specific audience though. All this politically correct movie making for the whole family including grandma makes me want to puke.

Revenge of the Fallen did to Transformers fans what Ron Jeremy did to Buffy Davis in Caught From Behind 3, with worse writing and acting to boot.

Oh and I thought the scene where his girlfriend just happens to walk in on him doin a robot was absolutely cheap, tacky, and baseless. That scene alone made me hate the movie a little. I've seen better scripting in Duck Tales.

Pearl Harbour was bad, but nowhere near as bad as this film.

For what little is does right, it does about five things wrong. The humping dogs, the robot testes, the fried chicken twins, THE FUCKING POSTER OF BAD BOYS II in the dorm room scene?

Michael Bay knows we fucking hate his guts. He's doing it now for lulz.

Wow. Michael Bay certainly seems to have a low opinion of his viewer's intelligence doesn't he?

Its completely mindless. Most of the characters are super annoying. The story likes to randomly change, usually without telling you until later. And it fells sloppily put together.

One part in particular bugged me. I don't know how to put a spoiler thing in here so consider this a SPOILER. You know that part when the Decepticon is on the pyramid and gets shot off by the battleship's rail gun? Why the heck didn't they do that the second time when the 'fallen' was on the pyramid too? It seemed pretty effective the first time!

For the sake of discussion, what was your opinion of the movie, Escapist?
Keep in mind that the writers ran out in the middle of filming or editing or something, so that had a huge effect on the outcome of the film. That would explain it's sloppiness amongst other things. People tend to ignore this fact for the sake of not looking like a Bay fanboy...

While there are a lot of things wrong with the film that make it crappy, it's best to remember that it's not all Bay's fault, for there were things that happened behind the scenes that played as much of an impact on the film than Micheal's directing did, if not more...

So Does Micheal Bay have a low opinion on the intellect of his viewers? Who knows... If anything, a movie is only as smart as the people are who are making it, but with all the things that happened during the making of the film, I doubt the movie can be any sort of example of how Bay sees his fans/viewers.

There is only so much you can do with the time given to you, and when things tend to go wrong, unexpected changes are to be made, which may or may not affect the final product. Having Shia Lebuff break his hand in a car accident, causing for a scene where Megan Fox pulls a medpack out of her ass to put a cast on him, and having the writers or whoever run out near the end of production, amongst other things meant that a lot had to be changed within a short amount of time.

The end result ended up being what Transformers 2 is today, a ball-gargled mess with semi-racist robots. Well, the racist robots was just a bad idea there, amongst other various bad calls, but take away the strike, the broken hand, and whatever else went wrong, and we would have a different film to trash instead of the one we're trashing today.

As some one who has worked in film production, it pains me to see that so many people ignore these sorts of problems for the sake of "Herp derp, Bay is a dumbass!" comments. Is he a dumbass for including giant robot testicles and annoying ass gangster robots? Yes, but when things fall out of his control, then it isn't his fault.

Michael BaySPLOSIONS!!! [http://www.kontraband.com/videos/14138/Michael-Bays-Explosions]

Really, explosions are his only 'talent' beside a fetish for all things army.

Sure, but other directors managed to at least salvage a decent movie out of the mess. Take Apocalypse Now for example. Going over budget, Typhoon Olga, troubles with casting, Marlon Brand being to stoned to act, Martin Sheen getting a heart attack in the middle of nowhere and more. By all logic it could've ended up a disaster, but it went on to become on of the best movies of all time.

Very good outlook. Really changed the way I criticize this movie, and other movies too. I think that the director in movies some times gets too much credit. Weather it was good or bad. Thanks for the input.

I borrowed the DVD from my friend. If I had a time machine and could only use it once in my entire life. I would use it to go back those three hours and not watch it.
