I now have a Switch and Smash Bros. Ultimate?

So what games are there for me to get?

Biggest ones I know are Super Mario Odyssey and Hyrule and Fire Emblem games.

I already have Breath of the Wild on the Wii U though.

It's hard to recommend if we don't know what genre of games you like. If I love fighting games and you can't stand them, all of my suggestions would be useless to you.

I remember Ultra Street Fighter II is on the Switch. That's a consideration.

I don't know, I mostly seem to play indie games on my Switch. Most of Nintendo's games seem to be multiplayer/party/cross-over games, which interest very little. That only really leaves main Zelda and main Mario. Breath of the Wild is great and Odyssey kind blows.

I would recommend Okami for the Switch though (in handheld mode), since it drastically improves upon the game's controls. Never have I seen a port fit a system better.

Depends on what you are looking for.

Octopath Travler might be up your alley if you like grindy old school jrpgs.
Diablo 3 is always fun and switch is a nice way to play it on the go.

Really though, the switch doesn't have a lot of stellar non-nintendo stuff on it yet. There are plenty of older games you might have already played or maybe missed that are worth it. Binding of Issac, and a number of other indie games for example.

Unless you like to do motion controlled Hadokens in only one mode, I would say it isn't. You're better off going to the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/street-fighter-30th-anniversary-collection-switch] as you get 12 different games with four of them being able to be played online.

Personally, I separate games into 3 categories: Time-Sink Games, Time-Waste Games, and Hybrids.

Sink games, I want to go through the story or live the character and have the experience. Time-Waste is the busy work that you do while you're waiting for your plane to load. Hybrids are of course a mixture.

Before I go on, I should say what kind of gamer I am. My Five favorite Genres of games are Fighting Games, Light Gun Games, Action Rpg (Both Dungeon Crawlers and Action hybrids like God of War), Puzzle Games, and Racing. I like grinding as I like getting better. And I like games where my actual skill is what wins the day. Not that my character went through several text boxes and RNG tallies to see that I'm the strongest person ever.

Time-Sink Games

Dark Souls Remastered [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/dark-souls-remastered-switch] (aRPG): It's reputation proceeds it, right?

Splatoon 2 [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/splatoon-2-switch] (Third Person Shooter): It's just fun. The different tweaks to the guns and grinding to get them actually does make a difference, and there's a weapon for your play style. And who doesn't like looking Fresh to Death?

Okami [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/okami-hd-switch] (Action RPG): If you liked Zelda: BoTW, this is something similar enough to please you.

Diablo 3 [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/diablo-3-switch] (aRPG): It's just simply well done. I get my gear, I must get better, so I grind into the night.

... That sounded dirtier than I wanted.

Time-Waste Games

Overcooked 1 [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/overcooked-special-edition-switch] and 2 [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/overcooked-2-switch] (Puzzle-Action): You have to prepare meals against the clock with various kitchens and their eccentricities. It's way more fun than it sounds.

Western 1849 [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/western-1849-reloaded-switch] (Light Gun): You get three nodes you station at while picking off baddies. It's limited, but in truth most light gun games are.

Lumines [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/lumines-remastered-switch] (Puzzle) Musical Block clearing. A lot of your fun will depend if you like the music. I suggest looking at some youtubes to see if there's enough songs you might like. This [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTHHaVy81EE] is a personal favorite.

Hybrids

DragonBall Xenoverse 2 [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/dragon-ball-xenoverse-2-switch] (... Fighting? Action?): I love this game because it satisfies my grind itch. I can go for an hour or two, or I can do a few quick practice matches.

The World Ends With You [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/the-world-ends-with-you-final-remix-switch] (Action Hybrid RPG): Fair warning, the 3ds is still the best method of playing this game. But I love it. I love the story. I love the world. I even love the main character, which is weird for me. The motion controls does as best as it can do. It's inventive. But I still much rather play the 3ds control scheme. But that doesn't stop it from being a fun game with random encounters. You can go through the story or take some fights here and there.

Hyrule Warriors [https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/hyrule-warriors-switch] (Musou): Sometimes... you just got to beat up a hell of a lot of people in a short period of time. Hyrule Warriors got you.

ObsidianJones' suggestions are pretty good. In addition I can recommend:

Super smash bros ultimate: you probably know what this is and whether you want it.

Steamworld dig 2: this is a weird mix of a metroidvania and a blockbased digging game.

Golf story: you will play golf and there is a story.

I only have two games for the Switch, Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2.

Splatoon is alot of fun, I usualy hate shooters with a controller but with the motion controls on the Pro controller aiming is alot more snappy. Instead of just moving your analog stick in one direction and waiting for the crosshair to move at a set speed across the horizon you can pull a 180 in a blink of an eye, maybe a tad awkwardly but its certainly the closest thing to a mouse atm.

You can't go wrong with any ( read: all) Nintendo 1st party titles. Because let's be honest, that what we all bought switches for.

Marino v Rabbits as a less complex but still challenging Xcom-esque game. Odyssey and Kart are pretty good

Splatoon 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Mario x Rabbids Kingdom Battle are the most important ones to get other than Smash

I won't recommend anything I haven't played and enjoyed on Switch myself, which isn't all that much, but:

Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana
Valkyria Chronicles 4
Okami HD
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

Monster Hunter GU ... it's actually difficult compared with MHW, and if you have other friends with Switchs it's how Monster Hunter co-op is meant to be played.

Hollow Knight and Dark Souls Remastered. Okami HD if you haven't already played it elsewhere.

2019 has a lot of very strong offerings coming: a core Pokemon RPG, Metroid Prime 4, Yoshi's Crafted World, Fire Emblem: 3 Houses, Luigi's Mansion 3.

Eh, Animal Crossing never interested me as a series. I might be being a bit silly & restrictive, but I need conflict in my games.

If you're into retro games I definitely recommend giving Blaster Master Zero a look.
