I was covering my girlfriend's eyes, since she doesn't like that sort of stuff.
I found this kinda strange. You actually physically cover your gf's eyes during scary things?...like, doesn't she have working eyelids?

If you passed out it was probably a combination of factors that you could never reproduce. Not enough sleep + too little blood sugar + a general dislike for surgery + high humidity + too much salt on the popcorn.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Haha well it's the sort of thing where she grabs my hand and puts it over her face, because she doesn't want to be scarred, but she knows she can't trust herself. ;P

This is also a very good point. I didn't eat a anything before I went to watch it except a sausage mcmuffin and a coffee. I had to get up early that day, hence why I was in the area and thought "hell, lets just go to the movies, it's cheap tuesday." and I HATE medical scenes. However it was an air conditioned cinema, as the all are, I had a bag of choc bullets which I scoffed down and a Dr. Pepper to drink, and didn't have any popcorn ;P
lol, okay - I was imagining you sitting there reaching across to cover her eyes, not the "cuddle hide"

So, you see - your body just had a "fit" cause you weren't operating it correctly. A few weeks ago I spent the day with some friends, and suddenly I felt like I was gonna faint and was turning cold, it wasn't till later that I realized I hadn't eaten anything but a green apple 12 hours before.

A friend of mine got pretty squeamish during that scene, as did a lot of other people at the midnight showing. The girlfriend and I just watched on in, what is described as by my friend, a "perverse fascination". Honestly, the scene was cool, but I've seen worse.

Dude, spoilers please! Some people haven't seen the movie yet! D:

OT: You should see a doctor about that, that doesn't exactly sound like someone passing out.

Oddest thing I ever had happen to me was July 4th a couple years ago, my knee popped out and I was whisked to the hospital... however due to some jerk having a heart attack, I was sitting in a hospital bed for over 4 hours with my knee out of joint and in constant throbbing pain waiting for some doctor to come and pop it back in.

By the time a doctor had come in to due the job, my leg had gradually straighten out and my knee back in place I was given crutches and discharged. I then exited the emergency room, waited by the entrance, standing on crutches waiting for my mom to pull the car up to the front. This is also at night time.

I then noticed I was slowly losing my hearing. EVERYTHING went to total silence. After that, I started to lose my sight. Internally I was freaking out but my mom had already left for a car and I was all alone outside a hospital... I dunno, It was just one of things where my mind just went "This is happening... well at least I'm near doctors so if anything happens-"

Then... I can't describe it any better, I was in a total void. No sound. No sight. The only sense I still had was the feeling of the crutches under my arms. I just didn't want to fall, so long as I didn't fall I thought I'd be okay. I also knew my mom would be coming back, she'd see something was wrong.

Then it all came rushing back, and I was bent over throwing up what little I had in my stomach. It had been a stressful day.

lol well I did put a spoiler warning in the title. ;P

Yeah I've been recommended that. I went to see my doc this arvo and she's determined that is was a combination of dehydration and sleep-deprivation, both of which have been more than prelevent in the last week for me.

Glad that ya saw a doctor!

I didn't particularly enjoy that scene either or the whole movie for that matter. I felt like a lot of the gore in the film was done for the sake of doing gore and less for sake of adding to the story.

So one morning during the flag raising ritual, this kid beside me started swaying and toppled over backwards.

Caught the bugger in time though, so he didnt crack his skull on the concrete.
Ha! I had that happen in my platoon during Basic earlier this year, except for some reason three of the guys got knocked out at the exact same time.
heh, were they at attention at the time? sounds like they locked their knees, messes up the circulation somehow IIRC, when I was still in the Army we used to take bets on which of the FNG's would be the first to keel over during a formation.

Of course there is no proof that that planet even IS earth where he seeds the water. But i dont think that humans were created to breed xenomorphs. We may have been a "because we can" type project, by the engineers, or a subset of then.

At some point the engineers decide to wipe us out for whatever reason ( religion, bordeom, environmentalism, political schisms, we were one group's project and there was a war on, etc) and got to work at a bioweapons facility. The goo may be nano-particles designed to engineer genetics, we dont know, needless to say it was far more advanced than what we are capable of. Something went pear-shaped, (accidental infection?) and preparations to leave were interrupted. And through several hosts ( lisbeth's boyfriend, lisbeth, and engineer) we end up with a xenomorph like creature.

Of course, at such a large facility the xenomorphs may have been a project somewhere else, or have been transported to the planet where the Nostromo found the ship.

And I know some people find Davids behaviour odd, but is it too far to suppose that something akin to curiosity had developed? Hence him infecting the crew member. He may have also felt something akin to anger or disappointment. I mean, if you found out that your gods were humans and they made you "because we could", you would feel a bit disappointed wouldn't you?

if you're really freaking out and see your doctor just to be safe, and get someone else to drive you

It has been said before but needs to be said again what you had sounds exactly like a small epileptic fit and you should be checked by a doctor. That is exactly what happened to someone in my class when he had a fit in class.

Don't watch that scene in Black Hawk Down where they preform surgery on someone's leg. I certainly couldn't.
See that's the weird thing! I've watched horribly gory scenes before. I love Black Hawk Down. The scene where they have to try and find and clamp his leg artery is really intense but I've never had anything like that happen to me before.
Interesting thing is that they both have the same director, Ridley Scott.

I'm sorry, man, but I laughed hard at this. This may sound awful, but just imagining you seizing in the middle of the film...I couldn't help myself. Glad it's nothing horrible, but oh man, I'm crying tears of laughter here.

Now, it's your duty to tell everyone that Prometheus causes seizures.

Wanna make that scene laughable?

Say at the end "ITS A BOY!!!" I did and my friend punched me whilst laughing like a madman.
