I got kind of sick of my xbox 360, and decided to play my ps2 only to find out most of my games have disappeared over the years.
I have 50 bucks to spend on PS2 games
any recomendations?

The games I've locked in a vault and forbid selling of were the Metal Gear installments.

I suggest getting one of the PS2 collections. They are only about 20-25$ and have three games in them...such collections are...Metal Gear Solid (1-3), Onimusha (1-3) and Devil May Cry (1-3).

And what pimppeter 2 said, the Jak and Daxter games are awesome.

These.
Maybe FF X and Okami. Never played Okami outside of a demo but my stars, it was a beautiful and fun game.

Jak & Daxter games, Ratchet & Clank games, Destroy All Humans 1 & 2. Those are some of my favorites that I can remember.

Klonoa 2 is an absolute must own if you enjoy platformers. Along with that, I'd recommend the Ace Combat series, Frequency, Amplitude, Freedom Fighters, Red Faction, TimeSplitters series, Rez, Metal Gear Solid series, Gran Turismo series, Burnout series, Sly Cooper series, Virtua Fighter 4, and Outrun 2006.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence. Because it has far less of the established story than other Metal Gear games, and this can only be a good thing. Get the Subsistence version because the camera is far better than Snake Eater and has Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake as well as other extras.

Prince of Persia series. These games have great platforming and a good story running through the games.

Beyond Good & Evil.

Oh and since you haven't played Resident Evil 4, DO IT. Best game of the decade, I would dare to say.

HSX Hyper Sonic Xtreme. It may not be rated very good, but it is the most fun I have ever had with that system.

Star Wars Battlefront II is the only game I can think of that hasn't already been said.

For some more obscure titles that may even be cheaper than the previously suggested, if you like RPGs, I'd suggest Okage. If you like mechas that you can customize to beat up other mechas with I'd suggest S.L.A.I.: Steel Lancer Arena International.

You might be able to find Okami and Shadow of the colossus...and if you do BUY THEM! They were pretty much my favorite PS2 games

...Damn ninjas. But if you're going to go for Racthet and Clank, my favorite has always been Deadlocked, with a close second being No.2 (Going Commando)

Oh, and God of War. Always God of War.

FFX (if you like Turn-Based RPG's with non-skippable cutscenes)
Ratchet and Clank Games (my favourites are numbers 2 and 3)
Ummm ... yeeeeaaaah, that's about the only ones I would highly recommend.
