Or one of my two remotes; let me explain first.
So all day I've had my TV on, just to listen to some shows while I've been playing the computer. Since I'm not really paying too much attention I'm not sure how long it's been until I notice that the volume is down to 0. For the first few times I would just press mute thinking I hate muted it for one reason or another to then realize it's actually on 0. Well it's been getting on my nerves so finally I unpluged the TV, and switched the batteries in the remotes. It kept going on but I just ignored it... Well finally I got sick of it and set the volume to 50 or so and I knew I would notice it, and I just sat here waiting with both remotes in my hand and as soon as it dropped I held up on both remotes. The volume kept fluctuating between 46 and 45, and as soon as I stopped holding the buttons it dropped to 0 again. I set the volume to 20 and it stopped for a bit and I got up to go to the bathroom but went to grab my iPod (which is on my desk next to my TV and saw it had dropped to 10 but was rising back to 20 again. I mean I guess if what ever is doing it is only screwing with the volume I can't really complain too much but it's getting annoying as hell.

Probably the volume down button in one of the remotes is broken, so it's permanently pressed. Remove batteries from one and see if it happens. If not, switch batteries. If they're both broken, you may just need to buy new remotes.

Yup, your tv's definitely haunted, better call a priest.

In all seriousness, you might be able to get someone to repair it, though it does seem like something hard to fix

I fixed it, after it started going through the channels I threw a remote at the wall, it shattered and it's fine...for now.

Yep. It's possessed. Good thing I have a bible and holy water with me!

Try rebotting it and counting to 15. That fixes everything!

Have you been using the correct incenses and saying the Hymn of Operation correctly every time you turn the Television on? If not you may be insulting the Machine Spirit who will in turn may not let the machine function properly. Perhaps you should clean it's inside and recant the Hymn of Forgiveness so it'll start working again.

My micro wave was haunted for a while. Well it was acually broken but no one told me when I was home alone, wondering why the microwave keeps turning on and off and beeping.

Is it possible that someone near by has the same brand of remote?
If not, record it, you could make the next Paranormal Activity.

Things like this have happened to me with my arrow keys on my keyboard.

Like SwimmingRock said, it's probably because the volume down/up buttons have gotten stuck down (which is what happens to me with my left arrow key), and you can fix it by either pressing it again or opening the remote to push it up manually.

Or you could just take the batteries out of your remote(s) if you don't want to try to fix it and it's really annoying you.
