Yeah they're not for me. I don't mind a Red Bull and Vodka or a Jaegerbomb as long as someone else is paying, but I'll take just about anything else over energy drinks.

Amp used to be perhaps my favorite brand before they changed the formula (around the time they changed the logo). Now it just tastes like medicine to me. Same with basically all Monster, frankly.Elfgore said:

OT: Yeah, OP, Redbull was an acquired taste for me. I drank it because it seemed like an adult drink, and quickly grew to like the flavor.
OP, I highly recommend finding a Rite Aid and purchasing a Vegas Fuel, as it is one of the most entry-level energy drinks I can think of, and is my current favorite. Everyone I know that has tried it, including non-energy-drink-drinkers, has enjoyed it.
I try to avoid overly caffeinated shit. Sodas as wild as I get usually. Only if I'm having a really rough time these days will a drink a redbull, the little ones. But slowly, cause I hate feeling my one heart beat.

I'm the opposite. I find coffee just plain nasty but love me the taste of a good energy drink. Not to say of course all energy drinks are born equal as someone already pointed out but I usually get my favorite brand and drink it for how good it taste. Makes me happy <3
I hated energy drinks the first time I tasted one, but they quickly grew on me. It's kind of disturbing just how artificial they taste, but once you get past that they're not all bad. I enjoy Red Bull, V, and even Mother. I find Monster absolutely repulsive, and I've heard bad things about Rockstar, but never felt the need to try it myself. I don't like iced coffee so I go to energy drinks for a caffeine hit in hot weather. I also mix them with alcohol which tastes gross in order to make the taste tolerable enough to get smashed.
Have too much and that shit will give you a mini heart attack. Well, if you drink it everyday. I use to drink it a lot and I admit I got addicted to it. It was things like Boost and Rockstar. Red Bull tasted like expensive piss. Had to stop drinking it since I gain massive chest pains and heart felt weird. Haven't touched it since. It was about a year ago.
I've actually recently tried some energy drinks of my own not too long ago, and I've found that while I don't remember liking Red Bull very much (It was quite some time ago when I tried Red Bull, and I felt it tasted awful), I've enjoyed most of the Monster Ultra variants, particularly Ultra Zero, Blue, and Red, as well as Rockstar Punch.
I will admit, the extra "energy" they give can be a little uncomfortable, and they have a sharp tang that a lot of people probably won't like. But, it's all about personal taste. After all, I can't stand the bitterness of most coffee's that I've tried, but I kind of like that sour tang.

I never drank much of it, sometimes when I had long gaming sessions and had to stay up long. I tried it a few years back, after I had not drank for a long time, the brand was TEHO (finnish), and I didn't like it at all. It was the one I was mainly having before, so I know I thought it was OK. Never really thought the taste was good in energgy drink, but it wasn't bad either.

I drank them for a little while while I was in the Navy, mostly when I was on night watch in the Reactor Room and I really, really needed Caffeine(because sleep is for pussies, apparently) and something cold(Hot coffee doesn't work as well when it's 100 degrees where you work).
I stopped though, because energy drinks would make me shit too much and make my heart beat way too fast. I ended up switching to soda when I needed cold caffine, because at least Mt. Dew doesn't have the shit and heartbeat side effects Monster does.

Only in dayz do I like them because red bull can be sold at a trader for a few thousand.
